"You picked the wrong alley. I suggest you leave before I make you regret it."
Bianca growled, stepping between the orphan and the demon.
The demon chuckled, its voice a sickening mix of human and something far worse.
"How amusing. A human, trying to interfere."
It lunged.
Bianca reacted instantly. She twisted her body, narrowly avoiding the creature's razor-sharp claws.
With a swift movement, she gathered energy in her palm and struck the demon's side. The force sent it skidding back, but it recovered unnaturally fast.
"Strong. You'll make a fine appetizer."
The demon mused, licking its lips.
Bianca clenched her fists. She had fought demons before, but something about this one felt… different. Stronger.
No time to hesitate.
She launched another attack, sending a barrage of energy blasts toward the demon. It dodged some but took a direct hit to its shoulder, causing it to let out a guttural snarl.
Behind her, the orphan whimpered.
Bianca stole a glance back.
