Chapter 61 - fruit chapter 61

I dug my hand into the hole in the Flyhum's body that I had made just now, my face still resembling a smiling expression. Looking into the Flyhum's eyes, I realized something about death and life

"Death remains an eternal truth, and life remains the lingering lie of death. Even when contradictory to each other, they are the same. If death holds the eternal truth, then life holds its lie. They are the blade and the wound."

And then my hand slipped through the Flyhum's flesh and blood, digging deep inside , Not long after, I felt a sharp thing against my hand. I knew what it was. Without wasting a second, I grabbed it and pulled it out. The stone was shining bright despite being covered in the black, hot blood. I looked at the stone and noticed its different color from the Shadowmancer's, which was different this one was yellow

Jaipa jumped and said, "Ooh, Lord! Spare me!"

"Did you not know anything about the Mir Stone despite eating it?"

"Wow."

I gave him a stare, and he sighed before saying

"Stone of Mir are five types of Mir Stones

1. Physical Enhancement Stones the one you had from the Shadowmancer.

2. Recovery Stones.

3. Agility Stones.

4. Sensory Enhancement Stones.

5. And last, the rarest of them all

Ability Holder Stones

Mir Stones are recognized by the color they hold. So for your knowledge, the stone you hold right now is an Agility Stone.

Yellow stones are for agility.

Black stones are for strength.

Green stones are for recovery.

Red stones are for sensory enhancement."

Jaipa suddenly stood in silence, looking at me. After living with him, I could tell he wasn't going to continue unless I asked him more questions about it

"What about the Ability Stone?" I asked.

"Aaaaaah!"

He screamed loudly. It was a relief that no one could hear him except me.

After glaring at me, he continued, "Ability Stones have their own unique colors. So even the same Ability Stone can have different colors."

I looked at the stone resting in my hand, covered in black blood. I wiped the blood on the Flyhum's body and whispered, "Dirty."

"So this Mir Stone will increase my agility?"

Jaipa nodded and said, "I'll go and take a look around to see if any monsters or creatures are approaching. You stay right here." With those words, he flew ahead.

I looked at the Flyhum's body again. Staring at its fallen body of flyhum form were the blood flowing from it, my heart started to pound louder My lips curled up, and a sound came

"Tou...ch... its heart..."

What?

What was that...?

I looked around to see if anyone was near me. That voice just now it came too close... After looking at my surroundings for a bit, I looked at my trembling hands. I had definitely heard that voice somewhere before. Haa… it was the same voice from before!

"Why are my hands trembling like this...?"

"Hey, Rudra! What are you staring at?"

Jaipa's voice broke my focus from what had just happened

I said, "Nothing," while still staring at my hands

"Was there any creature roaming around?"

Jaipa shook his head and said, "No, there weren't."

"But it's not safe to stay here anymore," Jaipa said, his voice filled with worry.

I simply said, "Let's head back."

Still, the day before us was too long 48 hours a day, and it was still morning.

Slowly, I started moving, increasing my pace with each step. The Mir Stone in my hand was burning bright. I had come too far while running from the Flyhum, but my cave... it wouldn't be wrong to call it mine now since I was going to be living there.

For the first time, I felt relieved about having a natural talent like this. I could remember anything once I saw it, and now, in this unknown world, it was my most useful ability. I could go back the way I came without losing my way

Thinking that, I moved without making too much sound. After a while, I came across a large tree. Looking at it, I could tell it had been here for at least half a century it was simply too big compared to the normal trees.

This wasn't the right way towards the cave.

I had followed the smell of a delicious scent but the smell was coming from the flowers blooming on this tree. Beside those flowers were large fruits, twice the size of my head.

I looked at the fruits hanging in front of me. At that moment, I was really hungry.

"Jaipa, are those fruits harmful in any ways?"

Jaipa made a weird face. "I don't know. What do you think I am, an all-knowing being or what?"

I looked at him and thought, It would be a waste to ask him anything more.

"Are you thinking it would be a waste to ask me? Haa!"

"Stop reading my mind!"

"Why? Can't you just stop thinking then?"

I glared at him, then looked up at the blue sky, the red sun, and finally at the fruits After thinking for a bit, I lifted myself up not exactly flying, just floating in the air without my wings flapping as I moved toward the fruits.

Up close, they looked different from what I had seen from the ground. They were pink with red patches, shaped exactly like dragon fruits.

After observing them for a while, I picked two fruits and floated back down.

After landing, I said, "Jaipa, can you look around a bit? I'll eat this Mir Stone and try some of this fruit."

Jaipa giggled and flew off. After a while, he came back, saying, "It's all safe."

I immediately sat on the ground. The ground was covered with grass, soil, and roots. Looking at the Mir Stone in my hand, then at the fruit, I finally put the Mir Stone into my mouth, chewing it slowly.

Last time, my strength had increased I knew it. It wasn't dramatic enough to break trees with bare hands, but the improvement was there Now, I was eating the agility stone. I knew it wouldn't be a dramatic change, but even a little bit of extra strength in this world could mean life or death

Even the smallest advantage over an opponent could be a lifeline.

And lacking that small advantage... could be death.

So I was more than willing to gain that little bit of strength by any means. I wanted to survive that badly.

After chewing the Mir Stone completely, I felt my stomach refreshing. That was all. A second later, my body felt a little bit lighter.

The second thing I did immediately after that was try the fruit in my hand

This was the biggest gamble of my life I was basically inviting a creature to make me a meal out of me Even so, I had to test it. If this fruit was edible, it could be a crucial part of my daily survival

I slowly lifted the fruit and took a bite.

Jaipa looked at me

I started chewing slowly, expecting it to be poisonous. But when the taste spread in my mouth, it was

"How is it?" Jaipa asked, making a weird face.

"Uhu…"

"What's 'uhu'?"

"It tastes good!"

"What?"

"It's sweet and juicy!" with those words i hurriedly started eating whatever was left in my hand without worrying…
