Chapter 60 - Fool chapter 60

The moment the Flyhum's head entered my square, time seemed to slow no not exactly the flyhum was getting slower I felt my heart rate elevate slightly not from fear, but from the familiar surge of adrenaline that comes before a kill.

In that instant, I appeared on the creature's body, my fingers tightening around the hilts of my blades. The Flyhum's head remained in the same position, but its body jerked unnaturally as it tried to process what had happened. I watched with quiet fascination as confusion registered in its primitive brain.

And a word fell from my mouth.

" Wow "

Every time i make the use of this technique it let me at suprised each time , i can't just believe that i hold a technique like this one in my hands , and the most unbelievable part about this technique is that I just got hold of this , like nothing.....suddenly i snapped my eyes " what the hell am I thinking ? Now not the time for this useless thoughts pushing this thoughts aside i focused on the creature benigth me

When the creature whipped around, I caught the faintest reflection of myself in its glossy black eyes a human figure, unremarkable except for the absolute stillness in my expression. The Flyhum's wings created a gust that tousled my hair and bent the nearby foliage. Its beak opened in a screech that hurt my ears, but

"Do they always make that much noise?" I asked Jaipa, who hovered nearby.

"Most things scream when they're about to die" Jaipa replied. "You're the unusual one for not finding that interesting."

Then, suddenly, the Flyhum twisted its body, making me lose control over it. I left its form and instantly side moved as the creature lunged, its massive claws tearing through the air it scratched my shoulder a little not noticeable , I felt the displacement of air against my skin, noting how close it had come

" its faster than it looked haa"

"It's not that I don't find it interesting," I said, ducking under another swipe "It's just inefficient Screaming leads to wastes of energy and i couldn't afford to it on screaming

"Aren't you the same? When death knocks on your door, you'll scream too it's the nature of life every creature want's to clinch to there life "

The Flyhum charged again, this time with unexpected speed. Its beak grazed my arm, drawing blood before I could fully evade. I glanced at the wound, watching as blood welled up and began to drip down my forearm. My healing ability was already at work, knitting the flesh back together beneath the torn sleeve of my shirt.

"Does it hurt?"

I considered the question while circling the Flyhum.

The creature gave a low, guttural growl and began circling me as well. Its wounded wing dragged slightly opening I had made earlier and would soon exploit. Its eyes neve leaving my side , tracking my movements as if it's late depend on it

I feinted to the left, watching as the creature immediately shifted its weight to intercept me. Instead of committing to the move, I formed the square again

"I can't waste more time like this Flying could attract other creatures. I can't keep doing this forever."

The Flyhum was already within my ten-meter radius, so I didn't have to wait to move i just had to act. And I did, instantly appearing on its body. I held my steel blade against its skin, keeping contact for a few seconds.

Then i activated my key ability

Information flooded my mind characteristics, instincts, memories. I saw glimpses of the Flyhum wandering through the forest when was i about to push the memories aside but couldn't because of what I saw next was terrifying a sight of unimaginable carnage. Corpses of unknown creatures hanging on trees some were shattered from neck some were with half body's and some had their inside out and a thin black fog covering everything, only dark trees appered to be their

Just as I was about to remove my hand, the memories shifted

What I saw at first was everything it's heart it's lungs , it's bones there structure, it's stomach , everything theat the end I saw it the Mir Stone and Its link

Without hesitation, I thrust my blade deep into the Flyhum's body, aiming for the exact spot where the link had appeared seconds ago my blade slid in smoothly far easier than when I fought with the Shadowmancer But I hadn't severed the link.

And a sudden, piercing scream made my ears ring I wavered for a second, then reaching my hand out i touched it's body

This time, one particular memory surged forward , The Flyhum, terrified. Even through its memories, I could feel its fear, its shaking body. It wouldn't have surprised me if it had died from sheer fright

But what I saw next made me feel the same

" A presence "

A gaze bore into me like a shadow cast over my soul. I couldn't see its form only the darkness looming over the Flyhum The creature couldn't even lift its head

Then, a voice came

The voice was deep, vast as an ocean "

"It will be enough for now....."

In an instant, I was pushed away from the memories. But I caught another glimpse of the Mir Stone and its link before I fully returned to the present. Without a second thought about the voice , I thrust my blade into the Flyhum's body again.

But, as I expected, I couldn't cut the link.

Link changes its location 1,000 times per second, making it impossible to pin down. The last time I severed it, I had been lucky with the shadowmancer But now, it was different , If the link changes it's location to any of the 1000 spots randomly in one step, then each position is equally likely be making it impossible to predict it , every position has a 1/1000 chance to appear their

My best Strategy in this situation was

that

I could only estimate probabilities, not pinpoint the exact location

Then I constructed a probability map in my mind, tracing the currents of likelihood, mapping the zones of higher probability. Not every space is equally possible. Some positions resonate more than others and at one spot my metal blade was stuck make one spot less for link to appear their

Now It wasn't about predicting where the link would be. It was about knowing where it was most likely to be and striking it

This time, without touching the body

I thrust my blade inside and a melodic sound came from its body it was the sound of severing the link

Instantly, the Flyhum's body went limp and It started to plummeted from the sky I was barely hanging because of my blades

"What are you doing now, Fly?!"

Jaipa screamed in my ears.

"It won't take too long to hit the ground."

"I couldn't just let go of my only surviving tools "

I mustered my strength and pulled my blades free. Unexpectedly, they slid out too easily or was it my strength that had increased?

Pushing aside those thoughts, I flew just before we hit the ground.

From above, I looked down at the fallen body of the Flyhum. In mockery, I spoke not out of emotion, but out of survival i guess it was

"O pitiful creature."

"Wow, you can actually say things like that?" Jaipa laughed

The sound was loud. If other creatures were nearby, they were surely heading this way now.

It was too obvious that sound , It was like thunder clapping in a hurry, I sheathed my blades and flew toward the Flyhum's crippled body. Without hesitation, I drove my metal blade into its flesh, making a hole near the mir stone Blood splattered onto my face a Warm liquid , it was it blood

And then my lips curled and i smiled !

My heart pounded and a unknown urge inside me grew stronger.

And a sense of knowing came ? It was about what was i made for.....

It was for killing i was meant to kill ?

i don't know why I just laughed at the fallen body of flyhum you could call me and fool for laughing , just because i killed a low ranking creature I was laughing but in the truth i wasn't laughing at him.....I was laughing at myself for what ?

I don't know !

Jaipa looked at me A fool

"That's what I said I am a fool ! "
