Sylvester spent most of his time in his room, lost in thought. The news about Winter making headlines left him pondering, but he was relieved that nothing major had happened to her.
A sudden knock on the door pulled him from his thoughts. He looked up as Lilac entered, making her way toward him.
"Why haven't you had your dinner, Grandpa?" She asked, taking a seat across from him on the couch.
Despite often disagreeing with Sylvester's constant need to control their lives, Lilac would never want him to neglect himself just because he was upset over something.
"Why did Damien break up with you? Did you do something to make him run away?" Sylvester's sharp gaze pierced through her, demanding an explanation.
For once, he had been pleased to see Lilac getting serious about her future, choosing a man who could provide her with every luxury in life. But that satisfaction was short-lived when Damien's parents suddenly informed them of their decision to call off the engagement.
