Two days later, when he woke up this morning. A window appeared in front of Baaz. It seemed that the lair has finished its thing. He accessed the panel.
—-
Lair Name :- [Locked] Dungeon Rank:- [Locked]
LAIR
Main functions
Resource Siphon
Summoning Pool
Abyssal Forge
Tribunal of Souls
Resource Siphon: Allows you to draw energy from the ambient mana of the earth. It was this function that feeded the growth of his lair. As it accumulates, it allows your lair to absorb enough mana so that it can evolve. This function amplifies the absorption of mana making this process twice as fast.Be careful,in doing so this could cause a disturbance that could attract attention!!!
Summoning Pool, where you may call forth lesser demons, increasing your domain's influence and bolster your defense. With it, you can summon being of unfathomable power.
the Abyssal Forge for creating relics of immense power that will allow you to arm your forces .
Tribunal of Souls, where you may extract and refine the essence of defeated enemies.
The new window that appeared was very different from the status. It displayed the lair name which was set as locked, dungeon rank which was displayed as [locked].
Apparently from his memories [F] is the lowest rank dungeon. There were 4 sub- options:- [Lair], [Shop], [User Interface], [Archive].
The [Lair] option helps in remodeling, generating new structures, and also facilitates movement between the rooms.
[Shop] as the name says, it displays a wide variety of items that can be bought with Lair Points.
There were even items valuing over 100,000,000 points, sadly right now he only had 11,000 points. And the worst was that most were requiring Dungeon points for them to be used.
[Summon] helps in summoning subordinates for the master of the lair. Unlike shop this option does not use Dungeon Points; instead, it uses Dungeon altar which is generated by the dungeon and can be used conjointly with the dungeon coin that only the Dungeon produces every now and then, it is done in tandem with the Summoning pool.
Subordinates that can be summoned have different ranks. Using one coin a [F] or [E] rank subordinates, two at once has a chance to summon a [D] rank, a maximum of seven coins can be used together at a time.
Using seven coins together has a chance of summoning a powerful [S] rank subordinate or an extremely rare [SS] rank. But the chances of one appearing are as rare as a Phoenix's feather.
[Archive] option provides detailed information about the inhabitants and intruders of the dungeon, and the dungeon master could see everything going on inside the dungeon in a three-dimensional structure. Currently, the [Archive] only displayed him.
The next option was quite peculiar; it felt out of sort in this menu, like something that clearly did not belong there. It has a technological feel like something of his old world [User Interface] this option was strangely decorated and a weird aura was being emanated from it.
A thought flashed into his mind. He excitedly opened it and here were the options.
Armory
Shop
Character
Party
Inventory
For instance [character] which was similar to the Status, but had a few more features such as [Promote] and [Experience Bar] in it.
[Party] displays all the members currently on his team.
[Inventory] is used for storing things,
[Armory] for enhancing and leveling up weapons and artifacts.
[Shop] option similar to the dungeon's menu lists a wide variety of items that can be obtained by using dungeon points. Maybe this was the real cheat that his fusion with the system allowed him to access.
Other than the 11,000 lair points, he was dirt poor.
"There it is the Food & Beverage section." He said, excited at the idea of being able for once to eat food from his old world.
He immediately exchanged lair points for the food of his preference and a bottle of soda.
[850 LP has been exchanged]
Though there was no change in his stats, his hunger was satiated from the food.
With that, the remaining LP he had was 10,150 points.
While munching on his food, he looked up at the other items listed in the [Shop]. After a while, he finally found an item he was intrigued about.
Elixir of the warrior. When used, it permanently increases any one attribute by +1, can only be bought once per day.
This was one of the prized items along with few others listed in the main menu's [Shop], costing 100,000 DP each.
"Hmm damn it, I thought I could use the elixirs to increase my stats in one go but it seems it was too far-fetched. Until I can evolve my lair to a dungeon and have a stable income of dungeon points I can't use it on these luxury items."
After going through all this, Baaz learned one crucial thing. That is he was severely lacking in LP. Currently, he had a negligible amount of LP, and he must find a way to increase them.
"Now then, how do I Increase the Lair points?"
When he thought till here, memories and information came crashing into his mind. According to it, there are various ways of increasing LP. Firstly when an intruder invades the lair, they provide LP every minute (the amount depends on the level and rank of the enemy).
Secondly when enemies die inside the lair, becoming nourishment for the lair (the amount depends on the level and rank of the enemy).
Thirdly when the lair and its master grows and rank up. And lastly, the lair itself produces LP every day by consuming the manas in the surrounding area.
Well it seemed he would not have to wait longer as at the rate things were going it would not take long before things changed as the exp bar indicated that ten days from now, his lair could evolve to become a full blown Dungeon. And he was still sore of the fight that he had recently. So he planned to wait a little bit before venturing out again.
Now that he could not do anything, he started feeling lonely. His mind drifted toward the old Crab, maybe it was time to pay him a visit. But this would have time to wait as he didn't want to leave the lair alone especially after his fight against the wolves. He has realized that there were major threats out there and sometimes even a colony of ants given enough time could kill an elephant. So he was careful now, this lair was his lifeline, if something happened to his core it would be his end. Well, maybe he could shorten the process by using Resource Siphon. Even though it could be dangerous but it would be worth it as this will help him pass to the second phase of his plans.
Determined, Baaz activated the Resource Siphon. Mana suddenly started converging toward the lair as a suction sound was heard. The mana density of the lair augmented. Baaz took a deep breath, feeling the mana entering his body, going to the most unknown parts of his body, rejuvenating them. A quick look at the exp bar showed him that the rate of mana gathering has augmented which should help him save five days. Sighing, Baaz went back to his seat. Hopefully the days will quickly pass as he was starting to become bored and could not stop a shiver of expectation that went through his body while he was thinking about all the adventures that were waiting for him outside.
Relaxed, he asked loudly: " Hey system, tell me , what happened? Something 's definitely up with you?"
His voice this time didn't evoke any reaction as the System stayed silent.
~~ In Baaz mindscape ~~
A terrible battle was unfolding. The system ego was in a dire situation. It was in a battle of attrition against something that it never accounted for. Something that a mere demon baronet shouldn't have. It's integrity was almost compromise as only ten percent ohlf his being was still independent. Slowly but surely, it was getting itself absorbed. It's been six months that the process started and it was sure that even the demon did not know about it. Unfathomable, that was the only word that it could find when it comes to describe this entity. It was even wondering about why didn't it get itself absorbed earlier. But it seems circumstances were at play here.
With a last flicker, the ego consciousness disappeared, completely getting itself absorbed, forever forgotten. And the worst was that, nobody will knew about it. Not even its allies.
