Chapter 16 - Her favourite colour??!

"Alright, Daddy, I will do my best." Amy smiled sweetly, hiding her dissatisfaction behind the squinting of her sparkling eyes.

Miller nodded in encouragement, then glanced at Quinn.

"Come out and check your car."

Amy's eyes flashed with a hint of displeasure masked by fake excitement, but she still stood up and linked her arm with Olenna. "Mommy, let's go see the car."

Quinn also stood up. Earlier, she hadn't minded not having the car. In fact, before seeing her results, she had already planned to share the car with Amy if she happened to achieve the higher score—until Amy had her own.

But now, such thoughts would probably never cross her mind again. She had seen what kind of person Amy is.

Miller led the way as the trio followed him to the garage.

Upon reaching it, he pressed a button on the remote. The heavy door rolled up smoothly, revealing a Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet gleaming under the fluorescent lights.

The car was painted in a deep, sophisticated shade of pink—metallic and sleek, catching the light with an elegant, almost understated brilliance.

"Wowwww... It's actually in my favorite color," Amy muttered in a low voice that escaped Miller's ear but reached Quinn and Olenna.

Quinn slowly clenched her fist, suddenly finding everything distasteful.

Indeed, Amy was the fan of deep pink like this. Her on the other hand has several favorite colors—black, blue, or red.

But this car happened to miss them all.

Without her expression changing, Amy turned around and smiled at Quinn, a tinge of envy apparent in her sweet voice. "Congratulations, Sis. You should be thankful to Daddy for the rest of your life. I really wish I was as lucky as you." She circled around the car, dancing excitedly.

"So excited." Miller murmured with a soft smile on his face, watching her bubble around the car.

"Take pictures for me, Mommy!" Amy motioned.

Olenna didn't dawdle and fished out the latest iPhone from her pocket, taking several pictures of Amy as she posed in front of the car.

She brushed her hand against the Porsche, then turned to Quinn. "I'm so jealous, Quinn. In case you don't know, this is, like, one of the fastest cars in the world. Zero to sixty in just, what, 2.7 seconds? And a top speed of over 200 mph! And look at that paint job... Oh my God, it's gorgeous. It's like something straight out of a celebrity garage. You're so lucky! I wish this was mine."

Miller couldn't help but chuckled. "You knew so much about it, don't you?"

"Of course I do, I learnt about it some while back. I thought it would be mine, but it's okay..."

She ran to her mother's side and took the phone to check the pictures, her sparkling eyes filled with satisfaction as they were all well taken.

Miller turned to Quinn and smiled. "What do you think? Do you like it?"

"Yes, I do." Quinn nodded, a small smile appearing at the corner of her lips as she glanced at Amy.

"Also, Amy, are you planning to post those pictures?"

Clutching the phone while swiping through the pictures, Amy hummed halfheartedly.

"Can you not post them?"

"Why?" Amy asked innocently, and both Miller and Olenna also turned to stare at Quinn.

"It's just... I'd like to be the one to share it first if I decide to. You know, it's my car."

Amy's cheeks flushed, and she stammered, suddenly feeling embarrassed. She hadn't expected Quinn to speak out. "Oh... Yeah, I'm sorry, I won't post it."

Olenna took Amy's hand and squeezed it gently, then turned to Quinn. "What's up with you? Your sister is just taking pictures, she's not doing anything bad, right? Besides, it's yours to drive anyway. You're the older sister; you should learn to share things with your little sister, okay?"

Amy shook her head. "It's alright, Mommy. I guess she just doesn't want me here anyway... And in that case," she stepped back, her voice quivering slightly. "I'll return to my room and study hard so I can get good grades and earn my own car too. It's alright, I understand."

And with that, she walked out of the garage.

"Amy." Olenna tried to call her back, but Amy was already marching away.

"Let me go and check up on her," she said to no one in particular and left the garage too.

"Uh..." Looking at the silent garage, Miller couldn't help but say, "Learn to be tolerant of your sister, Quinn. She doesn't mean anything bad."

Quinn clenched her fists, her chest tightening as Miller continued. "You should try to apologize later. You hurt her feelings, you know?"

He dropped the car key on the car's hood and motioned. "You should check it out. Everything's set already. I picked both you and Amy's favourite colour, so I'm sure color wouldn't be a problem. If you need help with the car or want anything adjusted, just get my assistant. He'll know what to do."

"My favourite colour?" Quinn repeated, looking at Miller.

Miller nodded in affirmation. "Yes, Amy told me it is... Isn't it?" Without waiting for an answer to his own question, he patted her shoulder as he walked out. "Alright, I'm busy with work. Take it out for a ride later."

And with that, he exited the garage, leaving her standing there alone.
