Nicholas was shocked. He couldn't believe his eyes. She was there, standing on the stage with a wide smile on her face. She looked so different now. How was she able to achieve that? She was fast-rising and might soon overtake him in the business world.
His legs almost buckled, but all thanks to his sister, Daisy, who was beside him and caught him on time. "What's wrong with you?" she asked, almost confused.
She didn't know yet that the woman they'd been looking for was the one on stage.
"It's her. She's the one on the stage. That's Amber," he muttered, and she stared at the stage yet again.
Her eyes almost bulged out. "You mean that Amber? The same Amber we know? How did she do it? How?"
He shrugged. "I don't know either. She looks so different. I don't know, but there's something off about her." Daisy rubbed the back of his hand gently. She was trying to calm him down. She saw how Nicholas was fidgeting.
