The hall was so big, and the designs were just wow. This was what Cassie was expecting. She received an invite to this party. Yes, it was meant for her father, but since the old man couldn't make it, she decided to come instead.
If she assumed Nicholas wasn't on the list, then she wouldn't have come. The main reason she came here was to see him again. She couldn't live without him. He was the air she breathed now. There wasn't a day that passed without her staring at his picture stupidly.
She knew she was done for, and he was aware of how attracted she was to him. This hurt her badly. She tried to be as joyful as ever. This was her, anyway. Always pretending to be happy.
She suspected that he had another woman aside from that bitch. She always noticed how eager he was when he picked up a certain call. Cassie wasn't sure whose call it was, but it was something she was trying to find out.
