At the same moment, Diana stepped out of the building and came face-to-face with Klaus.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, slightly surprised.
Klaus jumped but quickly wiped the dark expression off his face. He put on a perfectly controlled, fake smile.
"Nothing special. Just getting some fresh air," he replied casually.
Diana didn't seem to notice anything. She grabbed his arm enthusiastically.
"Come on, the party's still going!"
Without protest, he followed her. But deep inside, a silent and simmering rage was building, ready to explode.
The next morning, Miria woke up with a pounding migraine. Her head heavy, she sat up in bed with difficulty. Memories of the night before slowly returned: the laughter, the music... and those mysterious voices that had filled her mind.
"I seriously need to find Asher..." she murmured, still shaken.
She tried to get up, but a small piece of paper on her nightstand caught her attention. She reached for it, picked it up, and suddenly remembered:
"Oh right... the identity of the person who's supposed to lead me to Asher."
She carefully unfolded the note and read the name written in black ink:
Alix Ravensdale.
Miria repeated the name in her head several times. It sounded vaguely familiar... but too many things were swirling in her mind for her to see clearly.
"Never mind..." she sighed. "Now's not the time."
She finally got up, determined to face the new day, despite the voices that kept echoing in her head.
