Chapter 1 - Ep:1 Welcome to Blackwood Hills

If there was one thing Amara James knew for sure, it was that she was not built for the countryside.

The absence of decent Wi-Fi, the complete lack of her favorite oat milk lattes and the invigorating scent of pine made it painfully clear as she stepped out of her stepdad's truck.

'Here we are, kid,' Mark said with a smile

Blackswood Hills. Calm and quiet,

just what you need.

Quiet is boring,' Amara muttered as she looked around, quietly surveying the town and was disappointed when she noted there wasn't much

She couldn't help but sigh deeply. The town square looked like a postcard from 1985.

Mark chuckled,' Just give it a chance, huh? It's only for the summer.'

She grabbed her suitcase towards the small cabin that he'd inherited from his late uncle.

She looked around the cabin while questioning her life choices

There were no sidewalks, no Uber, no nail salon for 45miles.

She pulled out her phone and of course there were no bars.

Tomorrow's meeting's at seven. Locals love new faces. See you tomorrow! Don't be late!Mark called as he climbed his truck.

She waved half-heartedly and took the remaining of her stuffs inside.

The cabin was rustic, but clean. Cozy, even. She hated how much she didn't hate it. After unpacking and scrolling aimlessly through old photos (still no signal), she wandered outside to explore.

The woods were quiet.

Too quiet.

She was halfway down a trail when she felt it

Someone was staring at her.

She turned quickly. Nothing.

The hair on the back of her neck stood up. "Okay, creepy woods. I get it. You're spooky. Congrats."

She walked faster, her heart pounding

Then she heard it, a growl.

Low. Deep. Close.

She froze.

Behind her, between the trees, a pair of glowing amber eyes stared back.

A Huge black wolf stood still, its eyes locked on her like she'd just invaded his territory .

Amara's heart picked pace, She just got here, why her?. she had heard stories of how people died from wild animals . She took a step back. The wolf didn't move.

Then it did something she didn't expect.

It bowed its head slightly like it was observing her. Then, with a swift turn, it vanished into the shadows

Gone.

"What the hell…"

Back at the cabin, she slammed the door, locking it tight.

This town was weird. But she could handle it. She was from the city. She survived worse.

Still, something in her gut told her that wolf wasn't just a wolf.

And that tonight was just the beginning.
