The sheets were warm butthe space beside her was cold.
Regina stirred slowly, the scent of him still lingering on the pillow, musky, laced with that clean sandalwood cologne he wore like armor. She reached out without thinking, eyes still closed, expecting the brush of a thigh or the lazy weight of his arm curling possessively around her waist.
But her hand landed on nothing. Just a rumple of fabric.
Her eyes in fluttered open.
She sat up slowly, the silk beddings falling away, baring her to the cool air. Her thighs ached, deep inside and her body still tingled with the echo of his touch of fingers.
Regina exhaled shakily. It wasn't enough.
Not when the heat still pulsed under her skin, when her chest felt tight with desire.
She reached for the sheet, wrapped it lazily around her naked frame, and stood. Her legs trembled slightly.
She checked the bathroom first. It was empty with running water. No steam.
