It had been more than three days since Daniel had been searching for prey to devour.
All the creatures he had encountered so far were far too strong for him. He was certain he wouldn't even survive a single attack from them.
But now, the perfect prey had been found.
In a forest, a white rabbit was feasting on a corpse—a stark contrast to what people usually knew about rabbits. Its hands were stained with blood from the carcass it was eating with pleasure.
The sun had gone down, with two moons shining in the sky, making the scene eerie and unsettling.
But Daniel had gotten accustomed to this. The eerie atmosphere, the gigantic size of beasts—none of it shocked him anymore.
His eyes were filled with killing intent as he gazed at the rabbit devouring its prey.
Stealthily, he moved toward the rabbit like a snake.
Slowly… and slowly… he got closer, entering the range where he could strike.
Moving just a little closer to ensure a clean kill, he pounced—like a tiger lunging at its prey.
THWACK!
The next thing Daniel felt was…
He was flying.
For a brief moment, he experienced the sensation of soaring through the air—
THUD!
"Ouch!"
Daniel crashed into a tree, his entire body burning with pain.
It hurt so much he felt like crying.
"How the hell did the rabbit notice me?" Daniel groaned.
He wasn't dumb—he realized that the rabbit had kicked him with its hind legs.
"Idiot! Dumbass!"
Daniel could literally hear Drax's angry voice in his mind.
"As a hunter, how can you release your killing intent when hunting prey?! You were acting like a snake, yet you released your intent! How the hell would the rabbit not notice you?!" Drax scolded.
Hearing this, Daniel froze.
It was only then that he realized he had screwed up. He had zero experience in fighting and no knowledge of proper hunting. He had just been moving based on the films he had watched.
"You need to stay calm—suppress your killing intent when hunting," Drax continued.
"That way, your prey won't be on guard. When you strike, it will be too late for them to react."
Daniel nodded as he listened carefully.
He rubbed his chin—it was still aching from the rabbit's kick.
SQUEAK!
The rabbit cried out and charged again, attempting to kick Daniel with its hind legs.
Daniel's instincts kicked in.
There was no way he wanted to experience that pain again—
And he could sense death getting closer.
He narrowly dodged the attack, breaking into a sweat.
With a quick response, he stood up on his hind legs, shifting his forelimbs into arms and hands.
Now, Daniel was standing like a human.
This was the only way he knew how to fight.
In lizard mode, his movements weren't as smooth or synchronized.
Daniel jogged, clearing his mind of all distractions.
His sole focus was defeating and killing this rabbit.
Taking a deep breath, he steeled his gaze.
SQUEAK!
The rabbit struck again, but Daniel was ready.
He knew the rabbit wasn't fully intelligent—only acting on instinct.
If it were truly smart, it would have attacked the moment Daniel released his killing intent—before he even moved.
And he planned to use this to his advantage.
As Daniel jogged, he watched the rabbit's movements closely.
To his surprise, he noticed something—
He could see the rabbit's attacks in slow motion.
SWOOSH!
Daniel dodged the rabbit's first attack—
But he didn't see the second one coming.
THUD!
Daniel's eyebrows furrowed.
He had forgotten something crucial—
The rabbit had another hind leg.
And more importantly—
This was a cultivation world, not Earth.
Here, even a rabbit could use unpredictable movements and skills.
Gritting his teeth, he stood up and attacked again—
THUD!
THUD!
THUD!
Daniel lost count of how many times he had been beaten by the rabbit.
Even though they had equal strength and the rabbit couldn't seriously injure him,
It was outmaneuvering him at every turn.
But little by little, Daniel was adapting.
"His combat experience is increasing," Drax chuckled as he watched.
SQUEAK!
The rabbit once again struck with its hind legs, this time with even more force.
"I won't fall for it again," Daniel cried out internally.
He dodged the rabbit's hind leg strike, but another leg surged toward him from his right.
"I knew you'd do that!"
Suddenly, Daniel's lizard tail stretched out, coiling around the rabbit's legs like a snake.
"HAAH!" Daniel roared as he used all his might to drag the rabbit to the ground, lifting it before hurling it toward a tree.
THUD!
Daniel didn't miss this opportunity. He rushed forward, pinning the rabbit to the ground and raining down punches.
He punched until his body strained from the effort, then stopped to glare at the rabbit, which still had 25 HP left.
To Daniel's surprise, the creature showed no physical harm. A bluish-white energy shimmered around it, deflecting his blows.
"This is Originat. The very foundation of the universe, accessible to all creatures without conflict. Only by entering the Origin Foundation Realm can you wield this energy," Drax's voice echoed.
The rabbit's entire body radiated killing intent and rage. Though weak, Daniel could now sense the bloodshed this creature had caused.
The rabbit stomped again, Originat engulfing its body. To Daniel, its hind leg now loomed as large as a mountain.
Rabbit Stomp – A skill exclusive to the Hopper Rabbit.
Daniel smelled death. The attack's devastating aura paralyzed him; the air turned stifling.
BOOM!
The strike landed. Pain erupted as Daniel's body crumpled, his vision blurring. Death felt inches away…
But Daniel didn't want to die. His journey had barely begun.
SQUEAK!
Through sheer will, he forced his trembling body to stand up. He felt the wind shift and sensed the changes in the surroundings—he knew what was coming.
The Rabbit Strike.
Daniel moved, trying to narrowly dodge the attack.
But he wasn't fast enough.
The rabbit's hind legs struck him once again.
His HP dropped to 90.
Daniel winced but noticed the pain had lessened. He was adapting.
Drax watched all of this and nodded when he saw Daniel's willpower.
Taking a step forward, Daniel steadied himself, locking his gaze on the rabbit with a determined expression.
It was do or die.
He was putting everything into this.
