Asuriel hardly had time to recover from her energy expenditure in summoning such a large creature when Vaerion, who had only been gone for around twenty minutes, returned to his chamber. He wore his usual stoic expression, but Asuriel could tell by his body language he was irritated.
"Valthor has called for an urgent meeting," Vaerion announced, not bothering to hide his distaste. "Your attendance is mandatory."
"Mandatory?" Asuriel echoed with an exasperated sigh. "It's about me, isn't it?"
Vaerion remained silent and eyed her pointedly, the answer evident without him speaking.
"What have you gotten me into, devil?" she asked. "I never agreed to be part of your political games."
"True, you never agreed to help me," He tsked his tongue and gave her a knowing glance. "And yet you play my games beautifully and without hesitation."
