Elena happily checked on the pot of rice she was cooking, a content smile on her face as she cheerfully whistled her favorite tune.
"Miss Elena, you look so happy today," the head chef, Ma Agnes, observed with a warm smile, noticing Elena's unusually cheerful demeanor.
"Oh yes, I'm excited to take this to Ford," Elena replied enthusiastically. "He didn't eat anything this morning, and I'm sure he'll…" She didn't get the chance to finish her sentence before a servant girl suddenly burst into the kitchen, breathless and wide-eyed.
"Ma Agnes!" the girl called out urgently to the elderly chef, her voice shaky with panic.
