Mo Han strode through the courtyard, standing in front of him was the grand hall of the Ye Manor.
Bright Lanterns lined the frontage, illuminating the opulence of the family that ruled the city for a decades with quality merchandise.
From where he stood, Mo Han could see Ye Tian Long, his father seating there, his laughter booming the balls while he stroked his long white beard.
If Mo Han could remember, Tian Long was a man who had his gaze sharp as steel and a hard that had long since hardened to stone.
He disciplined his children with iron first.
And the one standing beside him was no other person than Ye Mo Feng. Bastard.
"As I was saying, Father. It pains me to speak ill of my brother, but it seems he has truly fallen. Leaking information to our enemies? I fear there is no way he could redeem himself."
Mo Han watched as the lying bastard shook his head, feigning sympathy. Mo Han had to roll his eyes and shake his head.
Once he had took a breath and two, he stepped inside, catching their attention.
His body was bloodied and bruised but he refused to show weakness to any lot of them.
A ripple of shock spread through the hall, whisper falling out of their lips but Mo Han didn't pay any attention to them.
Mo Feng's smirk faltered. "How did you—"
"You lying sack of shit!" Mo Han snapped but remembering that this was not earth, he cleared his throat. "I mean— you lier!"
All eyes turned to Mo Feng, in confusion and suspicion this time. Because this was the first time, Mo Han had ever raised his voice like that.
Ye Tian Long expression twisted in fury, and he slammed his hand against the arm rest, standing up. "You dare barge in here like this?! Without paying your respects?! You should be in the dungeon—"
Mo Han could feel the pressure of his father's cultivation, the power of a cultivator in the mid-flourishing tree stage.
[Ding! You have taken a critical hit!]
[0/100 HP]
Shit.
Mo Hon knew he had already taken a critical blow from using up all of his strength to subdued those men.
If not for the skills he learned in high school, from judo classes, it wouldn't have helped.
Mo Han wiped the blood from his mouth that trickled out, lifting his gaze to lock onto his father's in defiance.
Tian Long eyes twitched in surprise, seeing his son defy him for the first time. His eyes holding courage like a righteous cultivator standing atop a mountain with power that no one could rival.
Mo Han started, "And why is that, Father? Because of his lies?" He threw a hand towards Mo Feng.
Mo Feng stiffened feeling called out. What was this bastard planning?
"This is madness—"
He tried to defend himself.
"Is it?" Mo Han sneered. "Let's test that." He turned to the crowd of people, the elders, advisors, stewards, accountants, and the guards.
His voice rang, as if trying to tell every living thing to shut up. "I was framed. And if you have any wisdom left in your brains, you will realize that the true mastermind isn't me."
They all looked at each other, mumbling doubts not loud enough to cause a ruckus but they hesitated.
Why would they believe, the weak and useless young master over the eldest son of the Ye clan?
But Mo Han knew that their doubt was his opportunity to sow the truth in their hearts.
"And who exactly is the culprit, if it's not you?"
I spun to face him and then pointed at Mo Feng.
The hall felt silent, all eyes on Mo Feng right now!
No one had expected Ye Mo Han to speak, let alone accuse his elder brother. He had always been the quiet type taking the insults, the forgotten one.
But now, he was standing in front of his father, his face calm but his voice steady. What they didn't know what was that the person standing In front of them
....was no longer their abandoned, Ye Mo Han.
"That's impossible!" Mo Feng pancked, he turned to Tian Long with a face full of grieviance. "Father! He is lying against me!"
Tian Long, narrowed his sharp eyes at Mo Han. Understanding finally dawning on him. What exactly caused his son to get such raw confidence.
Something didn't add up.
"You dare accuse your elder brother?!" His voice clapped like thunder, shaking the hearts of those presents that they had to take a step back. "What proof did you have?"
But Mo Han was the least affected. He clenched his jaw so tight, swallowing down the metallic taste of blood in his throat.
"Proof?" Mo Han smirked. He didn't need proof—reality itself would reveal everything soon enough. They were a bunch of old fools.
"Soon enough, through that door," he turned to face the entrance. "Powerful Assassins are going sweep into this hall. Their goal? To wipe out this entire family."
Mo Feng who stood at the side, widened his eyes in shock, his fist clenched at the side. How did this bastard now?
Before Mo Feng could speak, laughter erupted from some of the members in the hall. How ridiculous! How could an assassin group dare attack the mighty Ye clan?
Mo Han was not bothered.
He was already used to people laughing at him when he says something reasonable back on earth.
"If you don't believe me," Mo Han continued, "then wait for an hour. But no matter what, you can not let my dear elder brother leave this hall."
It was an easy request to fulfil.
No one said anything now thinking back on if Mo Han was actually right. The room was filled with unspoken tension.
Mo Feng, remained calm but his fingers twitched at the side. He wanted to warn the assassins but all eyes were on him now.
His eyes searched for a way out but there was nothing for him.
Tian Long studied Mo Han carefully. His instincts told him to ignore this nonsense, but something deep inside whispered to take Mo Han's words to heart.
"Very well," he breathed out, making a decision. "No one leaves this hall."
Mo Feng's expression didn't change, but Mo Han caught the frustration in his elder brother's eyes.
He could feel his restless just by the way he clenched his fist at the side. Mo Han smirked.
There was one thing he was sure, his ex missed and it was his smartness to tackle every situation that gets thrown at him.
This time, he was sure he would maneuver his way out of this stupid novel.
The hall was eerily silent as time passed. Everyone patiently waiting for something to happen.
Some, growing restless. Slowly doubting Mo Han's words. But then—
BOOM!
[Powerful Enemies Detected: Be WARNED!]
An explosion rocked the hall. The walls trembled. Mo Han immediately knew they were outside. Thanks to the guards stationed outside, they had not come into the hall.
The sounds of swords clashing rang through the air coupled with painful screams from the courtyard.
"They are here!" He announced.
They finally realized that Mo Han was saying the truth, everyone's face pale in shock. They all scrambled back in fear.
Tian Long's face darkened. He moved standing right in the middle of the hall, just at the same time Mo Han staggered back to witness the beautiful sight.
"Who dares to curse a ruckus in my own home!" his voice boomed traveling to the sky.
Soon men clad in black, appeared in front of Tian Long. Their body exuding powerful Qi. Mo Han exclaimed in shock, knowing for a fact that this men were powerful seeing they were in the blooming stage but not as powerful as his father.
Thanks to the memories and knowledge that Mo Han instilled into his head he was able to recognize at first glance.
Tian Long's robes flared as he released his Qi. While the assassins pointed their blades at him.
Fools.
Ye Tian Long's aura burst forth like a raging storm, crushing the weaker assassins instantly, they coughed up blood and slumped to the floor. His fist shot forward, and with a palm strike, three assassins were blasted away.
His palm struck the ground, sending the hall into a turbulence, Mo Han had to catch himself with a pillar. His eyes staring at his father in awe.
It was exactly the way the book described Ye Tian Long's power.
Despite his years of being a merchant, Ye Tian Long was no ordinary man. He had cultivated in his youth, standing at the peak of power in blossom city before choosing wealth.
But tonight, he had to remind the world why he was once feared.
The assassins realized too late.
"Come forth!" Tian Long ordered his voice loud that it pierced the walls, and soon another set of guards clad in dark purple robes materialized in front of him.
Mo Han who was already hugging the wall, watched with interest not realizing that Mo Feng was already making a run for it.
But before he could stray far. The fight was over.
Tian Long dragged Mo Feng back, putting him in the middle of the bodies littered everywhere.
But Mo Han wasn't done.
