Chapter 69 - hunt

I was standing in a dark, desolate landscape, surrounded by twisted, blackened trees that seemed to reach out like skeletal fingers. The air was thick with the stench of smoke and ash. I could hear the distant sound of roaring flames, and the ground beneath my feet trembled with the rumble of thunder.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. It is a shadowwolf that has haunted my dream since I was like lest then 1 year old, and it outlined and glowed red eyes and jaw

The Shadowwolf's eyes burned brighter, illuminating the dark landscape with an otherworldly glow. Its jaws opened wide, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth. I tried to step back, but my feet felt heavy, as if rooted to the spot.

The Shadowwolf began to move closer, its eyes fixed on me with an unblinking stare. I could feel its hot breath washing over me, making my scales prickle with fear.

Suddenly, the Shadowwolf spoke in a voice that sent shivers down my spine. "You will never be safe, Tharros," it growled. "You will never be able to protect those you love."

I tried to scream, but my voice was trapped in my throat. The Shadowwolf's eyes seemed to be burning brighter, filling my vision with an intense, fiery light.

The Shadowwolf's gaze drew closer, its eyes blazing with an inner fire. I felt myself being pulled towards it, as if by an unseen force. The air around me seemed to thicken, making it hard to breathe.

Just as the Shadowwolf's jaws were about to snap shut around me, I felt a jolt and suddenly sat up, gasping for air.

I look around and see my father dead body

I sat there, frozen in shock, as I stared at Father's lifeless body. His scales, once a shining silver, now seemed dull and gray. His eyes, once bright and full of warmth, were closed, and his chest was still.

I felt a wave of grief wash over me, and I couldn't help but let out a mournful cry. I scrambled to my feet and stumbled towards Father's body, my heart heavy with sorrow.

As I reached his side, I saw that his wings were spread out, as if he had been trying to protect me even in death. I felt a pang of guilt and regret, wondering if there was anything I could have done to prevent this.

Suddenly, I heard a faint whispering in my ear. "You couldn't have saved him, Tharros." The voice was soft and raspy, and it sent shivers down my spine.

I spun around, trying to see who was speaking to me, but there was no one there. The whisper seemed to come from all around me, echoing off the walls of the cave.

I shook my head "no my father is still alive! My mother saved him!"

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I looked around, trying to remember where I was and what had happened. The cave, the darkness, the Shadowwolf... it had all been a dream, hadn't it?

I saw my father's lifeless body in front of me, and my heart sank. But then I remembered - my mother had saved him. He was alive.

I shook my head, trying to clear the cobwebs. I looked around, trying to get my bearings. The cave was quiet, the only sound the soft rustling of my father's scales.

Suddenly, I heard a faint whispering in my ear. "Tharros..." The voice was soft and raspy, and it sent shivers down my spine.

I spun around, trying to see who was speaking to me, but there was no one there. The whisper seemed to come from all around me, echoing off the walls of the cave.

I looked around and saw the shadowwolf outline, and it jumpscared me, and I woke up and found myself under my father's wing, and my father didn't know I was now a wake

I lay there, frozen, trying to calm my racing heart. The Shadowwolf's sudden appearance had startled me, and I was relieved to find myself safe under Father's wing.

I peeked up at Father, who was still sleeping peacefully. His chest rose and fell with each slow breath, and his wing wrapped around me like a protective shield.

I didn't want to disturb him, so I remained still, listening to the sound of his gentle snores. The warmth of his wing enveloped me, and I felt my eyelids growing heavy once more.

As I drifted between wakefulness and sleep, I couldn't shake the feeling that the Shadowwolf's appearance had been more than just a dream...

I jab my father albino scales gently

Father stirred, his eyes fluttering open. He looked down at me, a gentle smile spreading across his face.

"Good morning, little one," he whispered, his voice low and soothing.

I smiled back at him, feeling a sense of warmth and comfort in his presence.

Father's gaze softened, and he nuzzled me gently with his snout. "Did you have a good rest?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.

I nodded, still feeling a bit shaken by the dream. But with Father by my side, I felt safe and protected.

Father seems to notice something "Did you have a nightmare about a shadowwolf? Again, it has been a while since you have that kind of nightmare!" I nodded

Father's expression turned serious, and he wrapped his wing tighter around me. "It's okay, little one," he said softly. "You're safe now. The Shadowwolf can't hurt you."

He paused, studying me with a thoughtful gaze. "But I think it's time we talked about what's going on. These nightmares have been plaguing you for a long time, and I think there's more to it than just a simple dream."

Father's voice was gentle, but I could sense a hint of concern beneath the surface. He was right, of course. The Shadowwolf nightmares had been a recurring theme in my life for as long as I could remember. But what did they mean?

I whispered, "I saw your dead body in my dream!" I cried

Father's expression changed to one of shock and concern. He pulled me closer, holding me tightly against his chest.

"Shh, little one," he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. "I'm here, I'm alive. You're safe."

He stroked my head, trying to comfort me as I cried. "It was just a dream, Tharros. It wasn't real. I'm not going anywhere."

But despite his reassurances, I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread that lingered inside me. The image of Father's lifeless body was still etched vividly in my mind, and I couldn't help but wonder if it was more than just a dream...

Father sighed. "How about me, and you go hunt together? I'm sure it will be fun! And make you forget about that nightmare!"

I sniffled, wiping my nose with the back of my hand. The morning sunlight streaming through the cave entrance cast a warm glow, and the idea of hunting with Father did sound appealing, especially after the disturbing nightmare.

I nodded, trying to muster up a smile. "Okay, Father. I'd like that."

Father's face lit up with a warm smile. "That's my brave little one," he said, nudging me gently with his snout. "Let's go catch us some breakfast!"

As we both flew to find something to eat, I saw a deer "Father I will go down there to eat a deer I be with you shortly!"

Father banked to the side, his wings beating steadily as he hovered in mid-air. "Be careful, Tharros," he called out, his voice carrying on the wind. "Make sure you take down your prey quickly and cleanly. And don't forget to stay alert for any other predators."

He nodded, his eyes shining with pride. "You're growing into a skilled hunter, son. I'll wait for you over by that stand of trees. Take your time, and don't rush."

With that, Father flew off towards the trees, leaving me to stalk my prey. I focused on the deer, my senses on high alert as I began my descent.

I glided silently downwards, my wings spread wide to catch the thermals and carry me effortlessly towards my target. The deer, oblivious to the danger lurking above, continued to graze peacefully on the lush undergrowth.

As I drew closer, I could see the deer's large brown eyes, its ears twitching slightly in the breeze. I took a deep breath, focusing my energy and preparing for the strike.

With a swift and deadly motion, I extended my claws and swooped down, aiming for the deer's vulnerable neck. The deer, sensing danger at the last second, tried to bound away, but I was too fast. My claws made contact, and the deer crumpled to the ground, its legs thrashing wildly before finally going still.

I landed beside the deer, my chest heaving slightly with exertion. I looked down at my prey, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment. It was a clean kill, and the deer had suffered minimal distress.

I began to prepare the deer for transport, using my claws to carefully skin and clean the carcass. As I worked, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards Father for teaching me these essential survival skills.

Once I had finished preparing the deer, I took to the skies, flying back towards the stand of trees where Father was waiting. As I approached, I saw Father looking up at me with a proud smile on his face.

"Well done, Tharros!" he exclaimed, as I landed beside him. "You're becoming a skilled hunter, just like your old man!"

Suddenly, we heard something nearby

Father's head snapped up, his ears perked up in alertness. "What was that?" he whispered, his voice low and cautious.

I listened intently, my senses on high alert. At first, I couldn't hear anything out of the ordinary, just the usual sounds of the forest. But then, I picked up on a faint rustling noise, followed by the sound of twigs snapping.

Father's eyes locked onto mine, and I could see a hint of concern in his gaze. "Stay close to me, Tharros," he whispered, his voice firm but controlled.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the trees, and it is a behemoth that is 25% smaller than father

The behemoth's massive body emerged from the trees, its scales glinting in the sunlight. Despite being 25% smaller than Father, it was still an enormous creature, its presence radiating an aura of power and strength.

Father's eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed intently on the behemoth. He positioned himself between me and the newcomer, his wings spread slightly in a defensive posture.

"Stay behind me, Tharros," he whispered, his voice firm and commanding.

The behemoth, seemingly oblivious to Father's warning, continued to approach us. Its eyes, a piercing yellow, fixed onto Father, and it let out a low, rumbling growl.

I could feel the ground trembling beneath my feet as the behemoth drew closer. Father's wings tensed, ready to strike if necessary. The air was thick with tension as the two giants faced off against each other...

It ran towards us, and Father didn't break a sweat, and he killed it with 0 problems

Father stood his ground, his eyes fixed intently on the behemoth as it charged towards us. His wings remained still, his claws extended, and his jaws open, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth.

The behemoth, despite its massive size, was no match for Father's superior strength and speed. With a swift and deadly strike, Father lunged forward, his claws slicing through the air and striking the behemoth with precision.

The behemoth let out a deafening roar as it stumbled and fell to the ground, its body crashing into the underbrush. Father stood over it, his chest heaving slightly with exertion, but otherwise unaffected by the battle.

I watched in awe, feeling a mix of emotions: fear, excitement, and pride. Father was a force to be reckoned with, and I felt grateful to have him as my protector.

Father turned to me, his eyes gleaming with a hint of pride. "Are you okay, Tharros?" he asked, his voice low and gentle.

I nodded, still trying to process what had just happened. "Y-yes, Father," I stuttered.

Father nodded, his expression softening. "Good. Let's get out of here and find a safer place to rest."

Father, look at the dead behemoth, "but it will be a westing food if I don't eat it!"

I look up at Father "Father no remember yesterday that your belly erupted, and you almost died if Mother didn't save you on time by using healing magic!"

Father giggled. "I remember, but that is because I eat 2 massive behemoths! This is only 1, so it will just give me a stomach ache!"

I rolled my eyes, chuckling at Father's ridiculous reasoning. "You're impossible, Father," I said, shaking my head.

Father grinned, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "I just really love food," he said, chuckling.

With a flourish, Father descended upon the behemoth's carcass, his jaws open wide. He took a massive bite, the sound of tearing flesh and crunching bones filling the air.

I watched in a mix of awe and disgust as Father devoured the behemoth with gusto. His belly began to swell, and I could see the strain on his scales as he ate more and more.

Just as I was starting to worry that Father might burst at the seams, he finally finished his meal. He let out a satisfied belch, his chest heaving with contentment.

"Ah, that was delicious," Father said, his eyes shining with pleasure.

I look in awe at the massive bulge belly of my father

Father's belly was enormous, looking like it was about to burst at any moment. I couldn't help but stare, my eyes wide with wonder. "Father, how do you even...?" I trailed off, unsure of how to finish the question.

Father chuckled, his belly jiggling with the movement. "It's all about stomach expansion, my boy," he said, patting his belly proudly. "Years of practice and eating massive meals have allowed me to stretch my stomach to its limits."

I shook my head, still in awe of Father's incredible appetite. "I don't know how you do it, Father," I said, laughing.

Father grinned, his eyes twinkling with amusement, and he lay down on his back and burp a little

As Father lay on his back, his massive belly jiggling with each movement, he let out a series of small burps, each one causing his belly to quiver and shake. I couldn't help but laugh at the sight, Father's antics always seeming to bring a smile to my face.

Father chuckled along with me, his eyes shining with amusement. "Ah, the sweet taste of satisfaction," he said, patting his belly contentedly.

As we lay there, basking in the warm sunlight, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. It was moments like these that I cherished, just me and Father, enjoying each other's company in the beauty of nature.

I walk to his massive belly and thought 'let see if I can use it to play it as a drum' since I'm small and he is massive. I decided to do it on his side

I approached Father's massive belly, my eyes fixed on the rounded surface. I reached out a hand, hesitating for a moment before giving it a tentative tap. The sound that echoed back was surprisingly clear and resonant, like a deep drumbeat.

I couldn't resist the opportunity, and I began to drum on Father's belly, using my small fists to create a rhythmic pattern. The sound was incredible, echoing through the air as Father's belly vibrated with each beat.

Father's eyes snapped open, and he looked down at me with a mixture of surprise and amusement. "Ah, Tharros, you little scamp!" he exclaimed, chuckling. "I didn't know my belly could be used as a drum!"

I lay on the ground, my massive belly rising and falling with each breath. My son, Tharros, was drumming on my side, creating a lively rhythm that echoed through the air. I couldn't help but chuckle at the sight, my eyes shining with amusement.

Tharros's eyes sparkled with mischief as he continued to drum, his small fists moving rapidly as he created a complex pattern. I felt a surge of pride and joy, watching my little one have so much fun.

As Tharros drummed on, I began to tap my claws on the ground, adding a deeper beat to the rhythm. Tharros's eyes lit up, and he grinned, clearly enjoying the impromptu jam session. Together, we created a lively, thunderous sound that echoed through the landscape.

Pov Tharros

I stopped drumming on Father's belly and looked up at him with curiosity. "Father, how do you eat so much and not get fat?" I asked, my eyes wide with wonder. "You're always eating massive meals, but you never seem to get any fatter. You just get... bigger. And muscular and rarely get small amounts of fat."

Father chuckled, his belly jiggling with the movement. "Let just say I have my own way! That not many dragons can do!"

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Father's mysterious response. "What do you mean, Father?" I asked, my curiosity piqued. "Is it some kind of special dragon technique?"

Father grinned, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Let's just say it's a family secret, Tharros," he said, his voice low and mysterious. "But rest assured, it's what makes me the strongest dragon in the land."

I nodded, my mind racing with possibilities. I was determined to learn more about Father's secrets, and I knew that one day I would uncover the truth behind his incredible abilities.

I giggled, "and I don't think you actually the strongest just the strongest in our home!" Father nodded

Father chuckled, his belly jiggling with the movement. "Ah, you're right, Tharros," he said, smiling. "I may not be the strongest dragon in the land, but I'm definitely the strongest in our home... for now, at least."

He winked at me, and I giggled, knowing that Father was acknowledging that I would one day surpass him in strength. The thought sent a thrill through me, and I felt a surge of determination to train harder and become the strongest dragon I could be.

I continued druming father massive belly

The rhythmic thumping of my fists on Father's belly filled the air once more, and Father let out a contented sigh. He closed his eyes, a peaceful expression on his face, and began to tap his claws on the ground in time with my drumming.

Together, we created a lively, thunderous sound that echoed through the landscape. I laughed, feeling carefree and joyful, and Father smiled, his eyes still closed, as he enjoyed the impromptu music session.

As I finished, we both went back home to the mountain cave

As we flew back to our mountain cave, the wind rushing past us, I felt a sense of contentment wash over me. It had been a wonderful day, filled with excitement, laughter, and quality time with Father.

As we landed outside the cave entrance, Father nodded at me, his eyes shining with warmth. "Thanks for the drumming session, Tharros," he said, his deep voice rumbling. "I needed that."

I grinned, feeling happy that I could bring Father joy. "Anytime, Father," I replied, and together we entered the cozy warmth of our mountain cave, ready to rest and relax after our adventure.
