As the archer asserted his position and exclaimed his wish to finally leave this accursed temple once more Cades had to agree, there were basically no differences between the two temples that he had visited up to now, except for the door paintings, and if he had any more questions, which he had, he could just as them during their journey along the endless onyx chains.
And indeed after a few short moments the two began moving, almost in sync, both staring at each other and trying to analyse their every movement to anticipate what would happen, just in case that they would have to fight each other, after all, though trust had been established, neither of them wholly trusted the other.
The archer forced himself to stand on wobbly legs as he began walking ahead, very well aware that Cades could quite easily defeat him, though maybe with quite a bit of hesitation, seeing as he did ever so slightly start to trust the archer, Manug.
With wavering arms the archer pushed open the heavy stone door, its edges sliding across the floor causing it to somehow crumble despite this not happening when it had first opened, or maybe they had just not noticed it because of their entrancement and their assumptions seeing as literal tons of silver had crawled out from under the heavy door.
Actually, how did the silver even know he was there ?
Did it detect his magic or something of the likes ?
That would indeed make quite a bit of magic, but if it did then why had it only reacted to his magic..
Perhaps because of the magic system permeating the archers entire body, or perhaps because of something else, perhaps because of the weird glyphs that he had.. engraved, or rather the engravings that he had somehow created, however he had done it..
Yes, that made sense.. Kind of.
But, rather than that the two took a second, staring down at the slightly shaking onyx chain and jumped, asserting their own positions once more and starting to walk along the only one of the chains that none of them had walked along yet, hoping to see something good at the end, whatever that may be.
Perhaps a castle filled with people, allies and friends..
However, as they were crossing the ancient chains another question popped into Cades head, one that would be rather important to know during fights, as such he began talking with a purposefully assertive voice, trying to mask his anxiety, something that had only really been fired up once more after he had begun thinking about the fact that he was walking along an endless chain together with some random archer called Manug, someone that he had basically no reason to trust, except the fact that he had shared his past, or rather that which he had claimed to be his past with him.
"Say, what kind of actives do you have ? I'm sure you know why I'm asking, but I'm just going to tell you to be sure. I want to know in case of a battle, it won't be useful that you can fly if we don't plan while incorporating it, or even just normal healing."
The archer, walking ahead, stopped his endless march for a second but quickly continued on walking while explaining some of his actives.
"I have about a hundred first tier actives, same for second and third tiers, a few dozen fourth types, about three dozen fifth type, about a dozen sixth types, about half a dozen seventh types, and two eight tiers, I do however have none above the eight tier, seeing as they get incredibly rare after that."
The archer stopped walking for a moment, threw his head towards Cades and soon after recovered it to its original position, as if to tell Cades to hurry up, perhaps because he didn't want to have to talk for all the time they would walk along this endless chain.
He soon thereafter began talking once more, this time with the information Cades truly desired.
"I mostly specialize in elemental attacks, such as fire, light and electricity but my most powerful active is for some reason unusable in this accursed domain. You see, I would normally have the ability to fly without being restrained by gravity at all, but not in this accursed place. As soon as I leave the air I'll just get attacked by dozens of these beings hiding in the void."
As he said that the archer turned towards Cades and talked to him with a strict face, one that truly showed fear, one that was more fearful than Cades had seen him even when he had just woken up and was face to face with him.
"You might think you know what overwhelming power is, hell, you have probably easily overwhelmed hundreds of people before, after all, in terms of a normal world we are both at the peak, unrestrained by the gods, but there are beings hiding in that void, beings that can only see it when you enter the endless light, beings that can only see you when you "become" a beast of the void. These beings are incomparably stronger than me and you. At least that's what I think."
It seemed almost as if the archer was revealing a huge secret in his mind, but other than what he had expected of him Cades didn't look fearful, desperate or even just slightly scared.
No, Cades knew that he was weak, he knew that the dangers he encountered grew with him, something that was undoubtably good for his own power but detrimental for his psyche, he had already expected there to be something, and right now, though he didn't show it, he was ever so faintly thanking the unknown force that had taken his ability to fly.
Nevertheless the discussion was now finally over, Cades didn't have any questions right now, perhaps he would remember more later on, but it did seem as if the archer was going to say something more, this time with quite the stressed face, much less fearful than before, but still so.
Readying himself to receive the news the archer began his next sentence very carefully.
