As the two violently clashed high up in the sky they send out waves of power that would never be able to reach the ground.
Cades was struggling because of the violent cacophony of blood, his blade and the claws of the bird being intertwined in an never ending dance.
Suddenly, the humongous monster opened its deformed, pale beak wide and send a humongous wave of fire towards towards Cades who hadn't been prepared.
The fire, having taken him off guard, quickly incinerated his body and burnt his skin, Cades screamed aloud as his skin began melting and dripping from his face.
Filled with a new burst of adrenaline he violently retaliated once more, slicing deep into the flesh of the gigantic beast, and yet it didn't even cause blood to spring from the beasts wound.
His own strength was not enough but, while still burning, he cast a ice spell and cause the gigantic bird to fall down from the clouds.
And when it hit the goliath it began flying slower and slower, flapping its mighty wings weaker and weaker, barely even causing air to be sent out from it anymore, realizing this the bird instead spread its wings and began gliding down with Cades grabbing the feathers on its back.
The goliath and Cades rung with each other while quickly descending towards the nearby peak of a mountain, with the gigantic beast now also having started to burn.
And just like that two brightly shining comets violently crashed into the mountain causing a great avalanche that began to devour the few dozen monsters capable of living on this inhabitable mountain that seemed to hate all live.
The impact caused the two beasts, with the flames still brightly licking their every feather, to be sprung apart, and yet one of the two beings, the smaller one almost instantly started to attack the bigger one once more.
Cades heaved his blade up and struck it down with all his might while still shining brightly, being hugged by the warm and painful red blanket.
Though the impact was incredibly powerful the greater monster was barely forced to take a few steps back and in retaliation it began to send out waves of superpowered red flames that caused the little remaining snow that laid around on the ground to restlessly melt.
But Cades didn't bother with it anymore, he had already gotten used to the pain, he simply started running towards the monster once more and prepared a fire spell of his own, planning to fight fire with fire.
With Cades heaving up his hands he started to sent out a concentrated pillar of violet flames that made the monster stumble back towards the edge of a cliff.
While all this had happened the few people that had been down on the ground in the forest surrounding the nest of the goliath to hunt lesser monsters for money or fame looked up at the mountains with wide eyes and saw a true spectacle.
The entire mountain was lit up in flames, various different colours creating a cacophony of beautiful chaos that blinded all those that were looking at it with their incredibly bright colours.
Alas, the two monsters fighting on top of the mountain did not care, their once proud feather dress now being patchy and even blacker than before while still burning in various colours.
And yet the two monsters rose into the black night sky once more, the bigger one staying on course and the smaller one, Cades constantly flying away and returning to it over and over again like a violent, brightly burning boomerang.
Finally, as they had reached the greatest heights, thousands of feet above the ground, almost invisible to all those on the ground a bright flash appeared, sending a deafening bang through the whole region.
Up there, Cades had used his whole mana, except for the reserves in his ujos at once, sending the monstrous goliath off to violently crash into the ground, this time without the ability to save itself.
As Cades and the bird fell from far above with only Cades being able to slow his own fall down they crashed back into the nest where this whole, incredibly difficult fight had begun.
Hundreds of tree trunks laid there on the ground, and they were all sent away by the violent crash, the trunks directly under the monstrous bird being completely pulverized and those that weren't were enflamed in a mixture of red, orange and violet flames, though the red and orange flames were now beginning to die out.
Cades landed right next to the mauled goliath that could no longer move.
He felt exhausted, mana was directly related to ones own stamina and he had none left.
With a grimace he began extracting the mana he had left inside the various ujos on his body as fast as he could, trying to gain the power to finally kill the goliath before it began regenerating once more.
Once he had enough mana he lifted the golden sword that once belonged to the knight captain which had now begun fracturing and melting from the intense battle and brought it down, putting as much mana into it as he could.
Every last square inch of the ravine was filled up with violet light as the ancient beast that had once destroyed entire kingdoms as it wished, that had killed generations of heroes, finally fell and its eyes closed for the very last time.
And there laid the massive burning corpse, in the middle of what remained of its nest, a burning ring of violet flames with only two remaining beings in the middle of it, both burning brightly, the massive body with violet light and the being of a tiny stature with a orange flame that had now begun dying out with Cades using his mana to quench it.
As he quenched it a thick strand of violet mana stormed out of the beast and strengthened Cades beyond recognition, he was barely there with his entire mind, but he could still faintly feel how he broke through the barrier at the apex which had been holding him back for so long.
Finally, he collapsed from the mental exhaustion, right in the middle of the still burning wooden ring.
