"Hello, beautiful lady, forgive me for interrupting you. I couldn't help but join in your conversation after hearing you are looking for a guild to complete your quest.
Ah, if you were wondering, my name is Akira Kurenai, and I'm a wizard from Fairy Tail. " Akira said as he showed his guild logo.
" Fairy Tail," both Lucy and Layla exclaimed in surprise. Fairy Tail is a quite famous guild. Especially amongst wealthy families who knew the history of the trade war.
"Yes, and if you wouldn't mind, why don't we take this conversation to the nearby cafe over there? You see, ladies, my companion has already booked us a table to discuss this. " Akira said, as he pointed to the nearby cafe.
Layla thought for a while before accepting Akira's invitation. She didn't fear for her or her daughter's safety since they were in the capital. If they made even a small noise, the guards would surely come rushing over. What's more, she also has her own guards who are secretly watching over her.
And with Akira taking the lead, they arrived at a very lively cafe. This cafe is quite famous in the capital for its delicious coffee and affordable prices.
After telling the waiter their reason, all three of them were guided to a private room in the upper room. Opening the door, Akira found that Gildarts was already helping himself to a cup of coffee while eating some pastries that he ordered.
Akira had a tick mark on his head as he saw Gildarts eating like he was some ruffian who had no manners. And what's more depressing is that this shameless uncle seemed to have ordered the most expensive dish from the menu.
" Please take a seat, Lady." Akira, deciding to ignore Gildarts, gestured to the shocked Layla and Lucy, who were eyeing the dishes with greedy expressions.
After everyone was seated, Akira once again stood up and began introducing themselves, " Well, let me introduce ourselves again. My name is Akira Kurenai, and this is my partner Gildarts Clive, and both of us are wizards from Fairy Tail."
When Layla heard Gildarts, she had an expression of 'as expected' on her face. She obviously recognized Gildart's face.
Reading Layala's mind, Akira found that due to all the destruction and scandals Gildarts had caused in the past years, the council had sent portraits of Gildarts to every influential family so they wouldn't get their daughters stolen by this walking calamity.
Hearing this, Akira couldn't help but shake his head at the council's cunningness. On the surface, this action would ensure no innocent sheltered princesses would fall victim to Gildart's charm, but in reality, this would only make those rebellious children even more curious.
After all, everyone likes to do something they are told not to do. Their parents, knowing this, would rather go to different guilds to issue quests in order not to let their daughters meet the womanizer.
This would inwardly block many high-level commissions that were supposed to go toward the guild, harming the income of the guild.
'Sigh, the council sure is pretty evil to Fairy Tail,' Akira thought inwardly as he kept his thoughts hidden from his guests.
" Hello, my name is Layla Heartfilia, and this is my daughter, Lucy Heartfilia. Before we start, could you tell me why you wanted to accept my quest? " Layla asked. She was not stupid, as she could feel that both Akira and Gildarts had some hidden agenda in coming into contact with her.
Akira had an embarrassed smile as he honestly spoke, " Well, Lady Layla, to be honest, the reason we wanted to accept your quest is that we need to ask you for a favor. "
Layla's face tightened as she asked, " And what is this favor you ask for"?" She was very wary of this favor, as even an S-class wizard couldn't help with it.
" Well, you see, Lady Layla, we are thinking of staying at the capital for a week. But as you may have heard, our big idiot Gildarts's reputation isn't something that one could call perfect. And so we are currently being blacklisted by, I think, all of the inns in the capital. So we would like it if you could secure us someplace to crash in for a week. " Akira explained as he tried his best to control his expression.
" Oh, and we aren't asking for this for free. If you could secure us a good place to stay, that would be enough as payment for the quest, " Akira quickly added, fearing they might be misunderstood.
Layal was stunned. She had never come across something so absurd. But then again, with Gildart's reputation, it isn't an impossible situation. After thinking about it, Layla decided to accept their proposal.
If a S-rank wizard-like Gildarts accepts her quest, then she would be very reassured of its completion. After all, despite Gildarts' disturbing reputation of breaking everything, he had never failed a quest.
" Okay, I will accept your proposal. If you accept my quest, I would allow the two of you to rest at our mansion as my guests," Layla spoke with a smile. There are more than enough guest rooms to accommodate the two of them in the Heartfilia mansion in the capital city.
"Thank you very much, Lady Layla."Both Akira and Gildarts were excited as they heard her words. Now they don't need to worry about finding a place to sleep.
"Cough, then please let us hear about this quest of yours." This time it was Gildarts who spoke. Although Akira is amazing at negotiating, he still lacks experience when it comes to accepting a mission. Well, that's what Gildarts thinks anyway.
Without hesitation, Layala began to explain her quest on how she wanted them to explore a temple and find the celestial key. During the explanation, Gildarts also asked a few questions in between to get a more thorough understanding of the quest. At this time, he truly looked like an S-rank wizard.
But of course, as soon as the explanation was over, he began to revert back to his lecherous middle-aged uncle role, prompting Akira to smack him on the head.
Thankfully, Layla and Lucy didn't mind his behavior, as both mother and daughter liked such an atmosphere.
After a few minutes of some pleasantries, everyone stood up and walked towards the carriage. Since it is already near nighttime, Layla agreed to allow Akira and Gildarts to rest at her mansion tonight and do the quest tomorrow.
Layla had thought she struck gold as she would get two free bodyguards for free. But unfortunately, she underestimated how destructive Gildarts could have become. If Akira didn't catch him at the right time, this stupid uncle would have broken 7 walls and a carriage door unconsciously.
The next day, Akira and Gildarts departed from the mansion early in the morning. Well, it was more like Akira was dragging the sleepy Gildarts away.
"Why are we going so early again? " Gildarts asked while rubbing his sleepy eyes.
"Why, well, I don't want to upset Lady Layla because of some irresponsible uncle who couldn't control his own magic, " Akira said as he glared at Gildarts.
With yesterday's incident, Akira didn't dare to take any chances. Who knew when this uncle would go and destroy the mansion? This is why Akira decided to leave as soon as possible.
If they destroyed the mansion before even completing the mission, even the kind-hearted Layla may get angry.
