" Damn Gildarts, what the hell did you do to annoy that many innkeepers?" Akira asked as he glared at Gildarts.
Even though the two of them managed to reach the capital before nightfall, they couldn't find any suitable inn to stay in, as every available inn had blacklisted Gildarts. Even criminals don't get this treatment.
"Ahaha." Gildarts had no words as he awkwardly looked away. Although he didn't say it out loud, just thinking about it gave Akira the answer he wanted.
Apparently, in the past years, whenever Gildarts came to the capital for a mission, he would have to stay at an inn since he would at least take two days to complete his mission. And with his reckless behavior most of the time, Gildarts would get drunk at night and sleep very late.
And it just so happened that the train that would head towards Magnolia starts in the early morning. So when Gildarts wakes up the next morning and finds he is late to catch the train.
Well, he would like every single man, freaked out and maybe due to the hangover, he would unconsciously release his crush magic and destroy the inn.
And since this has been happens continuously for the last few years, every single inn has decided to blacklist Gildarts from entering their establishments.
And what's more disturbing is that, like the capital, Gildarts has been banned from entering multiple cities due to all the destruction he has caused over the years.
' Damn, I shouldn't have taken this quest with him. I just hope those innkeepers wouldn't blacklist me because of Gildarts ' Akira thought as he glared hatefully at Gildarts. This uncle is simply too much.
While they were walking aimlessly, they arrived at a building that had a signboard saying 'Heartfilia Konzern '.
Seeing this signboard, there was a name that kept appearing in Akira's mind. Lucy Heartfilia, one of the main characters in the story of Fairy Tail. From what Akira remembered, she came from a wealthy family, but during the whole story, she was flat broke and sometimes even cried out loud, not being able to cover her rent.
' But now that I think about it, didn't the story say that Lucy's mother would die in a few years? The eclipse door should be opened on year X777, which means 5 years from now on.' Akira thought as he gazed at the door to the building.
' I kind of wish I could meet her. After all, it is said that to open the eclipse gate, one must use all 12 zodiac keys at the same time. And for a celestial spirit mage who could use all 12 spirits at the same time, it should be very powerful, right?' Akira thought.
Maybe it was due to the fact that the mischievous couple may have heard his thoughts, or maybe it was a coincidence, but as they passed by the building, a carriage stopped next to them.
From it walked out two blondes. One was a very cute, beautiful little girl who wore a blue one-piece dress that made her adorable. In her hands, she held a toy doll that somehow is slowly getting her own conscience.
But what caught Akira's attention was not her but the lady next to her. If Akira didn't know any better, he would have seriously suspected Lucy had traveled back in time. Although Akira hadn't seen the original story, he had seen Lucy's illustration on a poster, and this lady here looked exactly like her. Some might even say they are twins.
Sensing someone's gaze Layla Heartfilia looked around and caught Akira, who was gazing at her. Seeing that he was just a small child, Layala gave him a small smile and walked inside the building with her daughter.
Akira watched them go inside, and only then did he return his gaze. When he turned around, he saw Gildarts grinning at him.
"Hey kid, you sure have some good taste; from what I see, that little girl would definitely become as hot as her mother, " Gildarts said as he was some famous sage educating his junior on the ways of the world.
"Fuck you," Akira cursed as he wanted to punch this stupid uncle for his stupid remarks. Did he think everyone was like him, a pervert who would chase after skirts?
"Well, what do you know? Our little Akira had grown up. He even said his first curse word " Gildarts said as he faked a tear.
Akira just glared at him. ' Just wait, you wait, Gildarts; I will make you pay for this,' he thought as a very evil plan formed in his mind.
Since dear Gildarts is overflowing with fatherly love, he wouldn't mind having his own daughter curse at him, right?
"Hehehe." Akira grinned evilly, making Gildarts take a step back in fear. Just for a moment, Gildarts saw that Akira had two devil horns on his head.
' Maybe I shouldn't have teased him,' Gildarts thought as the dark aura around Akira grew stronger. "Emm, why don't we go now? I'm sure there used to be an inn on the left street right around the corner. " Gildarts said as he didn't want to get caught up with this kid's wicked plans.
Hearing his words, Akira came back to reality. "Oh, don't worry; I already have a plan. If this works out, we can stop worrying about staying in the capital for the next few days," Akira said as he looked at the 'Heartfilia Konzern' with a smile.
...
" I'm truly sorry, Lady Layla, but we currently have no suitable personnel to complete your request. We would either have to ask headquarters for help or post a request on a guild," the manager said as he bowed his head.
" I see that's too bad, " Layla said with a bit of disappointment in her tone. Earlier, when she and her daughter were shopping in the royal capital, she got some information about a Celestial key being sighted inside a temple in the mountains near Crocus City. Since the temple is located deep inside mountains, you would need at least an A rank wizard for help.
If she was alone, Layla could have gone by herself as she had enough confidence in her own strength. But with her daughter, she couldn't possibly go right. That would be too irresponsible.
So that is why Layla wanted someone from her company to go instead. But it seems there is no one strong enough available currently.
'Sigh, it seems I have to issue a quest to a guild, it seems,' Layla thought. Since her husband is currently out on a business trip to the western continent, only she and Lucy were left in the mansion. Feeling too bored, she took Lucy and came to the royal capital for some shopping.
Since she couldn't possibly stay until her husband comes back as it would take too much time, she obviously has to issue a quest to get the celestial key since she is very impatient.
"Mom, are we going to a guild now?"three-year-old Lucy asked Layla with a bit of excitement in her voice. Like her mother, she was also someone who loved adventure, so she was a big fan of wizards.
"Yes, dear, we need to go to a guild to submit our request." Layala smiled kindly at her daughter as she explained.
"Yayyy, did you hear that Gonzales? We are going to a real guild," Lucy excitedly said as she looked at her doll.
Layla looked at her excited daughter and couldn't help but smile. Taking the excited Lucy by her hand, she exited the building.
" Which guild should I give this quest to?" she unconsciously mumbled as she left the building with her daughter.
Most guilds specialize in one or two fields. For example, members of Blue Pegasus obviously specialize in quests that would need handsome men and women. Lamia Scale specializes in quests that connect to ruins.
Just as Layla was thinking about this, she suddenly heard a young boy's voice that interrupted her train of thought, "If it is about completing a quest, then perhaps we could be of help to you."
Turning around, she saw there stood Akira with a salesman smile on his face. His eyes were shining under the mask.
"Oh, you were the kid back then, " Layla said as she recognized Akira. Well, Akira, wearing a mask and with his red hair, is very eye-catching.
