The sky was overcast and heavy with rain.
Kingsly Scott sat on the sofa, silently gazing at the black pen on the coffee table.
The dim light from outside cast a gray shadow over his handsome features and deep and thoughtful eyes.
Helen Hayes entered from outside the villa, hesitating upon seeing Kingsly sitting alone on the sofa.
Kingsly had already noticed him and, after a long pause, said softly, "Speak."
Helen stepped forward respectfully, "Mr. Scott, they feared you would seek out Miss Bennett and have 'restrained' her."
A pang hit Kingsly's chest.
Helen scrutinized Kingsly's face for any sign of emotion but found none.
"The court summons has arrived. If we don't submit evidence soon, you'll have to appear in court to face formal charges in an hour."
Kingsly continued to stare at the pen, and after what felt like an eternity, he finally spoke, "Submit the evidence to the police."
Helen immediately took out his phone, instructing his subordinate to handle it.
