"Noah, since leaving the courtroom, my sister hasn't spoken a word... I don't know what happened inside; it's only that there's a recess. I'm worried about her, so I called you," Diana Foster explained to her brother, who had just arrived.
Noah Foster glanced at Rachel standing by the window, then turned to William Franklin. "Mr. Franklin, my sister must have encountered some trouble in court. Let me go talk to her."
William Franklin nodded and moved toward Rachel.
Diana wanted to follow, but Noah stopped her.
Confused, she asked, "Why not?"
Noah replied, "I invited Mr. Franklin to help resolve whatever issue my sister faces."
Diana paused, then understanding dawned, and she smiled, nodding at Noah.
"Rachel."
Startled by William's voice, Rachel snapped back to reality and turned. "Mr. Franklin, " she managed a polite smile. What brings you here?"
William replied, "Noah mentioned you might be facing difficulties in this trial, so I came to see if I could help."
