It had to be said—rich people really lived differently.
The bathroom alone was larger than the one-bedroom apartment Satoshi rented in reality.
And the decorations? Absolutely top-tier.
And to think—this was just a guest room. No wonder he couldn't help but sigh at the luxurious lifestyle of the wealthy.
"Still, too much comfort can make even the most hardworking people lose their ambition."
What was the purpose of life?
To live a better one. And in this Pokémon world, that was directly proportional to strength.
If you were strong, you naturally enjoyed better treatment. If you were weak, no amount of wealth could protect you—because the strong could simply take it all away.
Here, power meant everything.
Misty was able to enjoy such a good life not just because of her family's wealth but also because she was a Gym Leader—her strength played an important role in securing her status.
"But once a Trainer becomes a Gym Leader and starts enjoying life, their strength stagnates. If they neglect training, their skills may even decline."
That was why Satoshi had no plans to indulge in luxury now.
Not only was his current strength lacking, but he would also face many powerful opponents in the future. If he couldn't reach at least Elite, or preferably Champion level, he'd be defeated sooner or later.
"It's too early to enjoy life now. First, I need to get stronger. Once I've overcome all my challenges, then I can afford to relax."
After his bath, Satoshi followed a maid to the dining hall.
A lavish feast was already set on the long dining table, and the sheer number of dishes left him stunned.
"Is this really just another normal day for rich people?"
"Sorry for keeping you waiting, Satoshi."
Hearing Misty's voice, Satoshi turned his head.
She walked toward him gracefully, no longer wearing her usual sporty attire.
Crystal high heels. Orange hair let down over her shoulders. A pure white dress.
Her usual energetic aura was replaced with an elegant and refined presence.
She looked undeniably beautiful.
"That dress suits you. You look even more elegant in it."
Satoshi was a straightforward, well-mannered, and civilized person.
Since Misty had taken the time to dress up, it was only polite to offer a compliment.
Wasn't that just basic etiquette?
Besides, her current appearance as a wealthy young lady was undeniably more charming than her usual carefree, tomboyish image.
It didn't cost anything to say something nice, so why not?
"Oh? So are you saying I had no elegance before?"
Misty smirked playfully as she took her seat across from him.
"I never said that—don't overthink it."
"Who knows what you're really thinking?"
Satoshi could only roll his eyes.
He had always been single, and understanding a woman's thoughts was beyond him.
Rather than argue, he simply started eating.
Misty, on the other hand, felt slightly pleased.
Who didn't enjoy receiving compliments—especially from someone of the opposite gender?
Still, she was the type to act carefree, even in front of someone she liked.
She had been caught off guard earlier due to the intensity of their battle, but now that she had regained her composure, she could interact with Satoshi more naturally.
"So, Satoshi, what are your plans next?"
They chatted as they ate, and after a while, Misty asked about his future goals.
"As a Rookie Trainer just starting my journey, my goal is simple—train more, challenge Gyms, go on adventures, participate in the Pokémon League, and win the championship."
Satoshi spoke without hesitation.
"This is Cerulean City, so I'll be challenging the Gym Leader tomorrow. After that, I'll head to the next city to continue training."
There was nothing to hide—almost every Rookie Trainer had this mindset, except those who focused on Pokémon Contests or breeding.
"Rookie Trainer? You?!"
Misty rolled her eyes.
"If every Rookie Trainer were as strong as you, all the Gym Leaders might as well retire."
Satoshi's strength was leagues above the average beginner Trainer. Even those who had been traveling for months would struggle to match him.
"But you plan to challenge the Cerulean City Gym Leader tomorrow? I heard she's pretty strong. Are you sure you can beat her?"
There was a sly glint in Misty's eyes.
She was the Gym Leader, and she clearly wanted to surprise him.
"If I didn't have confidence, how could I aim to become strong? No matter the opponent, no matter their strength, I always fight with the belief that I can win."
Satoshi answered calmly.
He knew exactly what Misty was thinking, but he played along.
He wasn't oblivious—he had known Misty's identity from the beginning.
That said, his words carried an important caveat:
He would only fight battles where he was sure he could win and earn rich rewards.
He wasn't some reckless fool charging into fights without a plan.
But as long as victory was within reach, he would face any challenge with unwavering resolve.
Misty fell silent, mulling over his words.
After a moment, she nodded in understanding.
"You're right. If someone doesn't even have the belief that they can win, they'll never become strong."
Her appreciation for Satoshi grew even more.
"You just arrived in Cerulean City today, and you're still unfamiliar with the place. I'll take you to the Gym tomorrow. I'd love to see how you plan to defeat the Gym Leader and earn your badge."
Misty smiled, as if she were doing him a favor.
Satoshi simply nodded.
He knew she was trying to set up a surprise.
But considering how valuable the reward from her last quest was, he was happy to play along.
After dinner, the two returned to their rooms to rest.
They had both been through a lot today.
Satoshi, exhausted from the battles, set up the game's reminder function before logging off to rest in reality.
In Pokémon Generations, players had to go offline somewhere safe.
Most chose the Pokémon Center, but occasionally, staying in an NPC's home was an option.
The game's reminder function ensured that if someone knocked on the door while he was offline, he would receive a notification on his phone, allowing him to log back in immediately.
Of course, he didn't have to go online, but if he missed something important, that was his own responsibility.
As Satoshi logged off, Misty received a call.
"What? A Gym battle? Then..."
