The Carter estate was a grand yet warm place,the kind of home built on generations of wealth but maintained with genuine love. Ever stood in the grand foyer, her twins beside her, their wide eyes taking in the massive chandelier and elegant decor.
Nathaniel squeezed her hand reassuringly. "You'll love them. And they're going to love you."
Ever nodded, though nerves settled in her stomach. It wasn't just about her anymore. Isla and Leo were here too.
The moment they stepped into the dining hall, a woman rushed forward ,Nathaniel's mother, Margaret Carter.
"Oh, sweetheart, welcome!" She pulled Ever into a warm hug before crouching down to Isla and Leo. "And you two must be the famous twins. My goodness, you're even more beautiful in person."
Leo, ever the protective one, glanced at his mother before giving a small nod. Isla, however, grinned. "Are you going to be our new grandma?"
Margaret let out a delighted laugh. "Oh, I'd love nothing more!"
