Xavier made it out of the dungeon just in time for Selene to return with Lucas.
"Can you tell me why you suddenly wanted me to go on a horse ride? A ride I thought we were to do together so you could give me a better tour of the estate. What are you hiding?" Selene questioned, sensing something was happening.
"Leave us, Lucas. Listen to news about the church," Xavier said, sending off Lucas first. "We had a visit from Gabriel. He wanted to speak to you, but I didn't allow it. It seems he is realising what he lost from his actions. There is no doubt he wants you back."
Selene laughed since it could only be a joke, but when Xavier didn't laugh, she stopped. "He cannot be serious. Why now would he want me back? Why does he think there would ever be a chance for him?"
Selene felt uncomfortable hearing Gabriel wanted to speak to her.
"I feel like I would be sick just from hearing this," Selene muttered.
