Chapter 96 - Chapter 96

Silu smiled as she kissed each one of them in turn.

Only then did the three men feel satisfied and return.

Of course, after tidying up a bit, they began their journey again.

Naturally, they wrapped some things in animal skins to avoid drawing too much attention.

After all, carrying nothing would raise suspicion.

Song Zhan carried a large bundle of animal skin on his back, which contained some food and a few more skins rolled up inside.

Meanwhile, Baidi wore a basket around his neck, and inside it was a pink-eared rabbit.

Silu, on the other hand, was being carried on Heyao's back.

Heyao's lower body was in his snake form, while his upper body remained in human form, so he could take care of Silu more easily.

He carried Silu securely on his back.

Silu looked curiously at Heyao's colorful, black-patterned tail, fascinated by how quickly and steadily it moved as it slithered.

She liked it quite a bit.

"How's the ride? Is it too bumpy?" Heyao asked, concerned.

After all, it was the first time the little female had been carried on his back like this, and he worried she might not be used to it.

Unlike Baidi and Song Zhan, he didn't have a thick, fluffy coat to cradle her in, but he didn't want to miss the chance to be close to her, so he offered to carry her.

Still, he cared about how she felt. If she didn't like it or found it uncomfortable, he'd switch with Cheng Mo and let him carry her while he led the way.

After all, they always alternated anyway.

"No, it's very steady, and being on your back like this makes me feel really safe," Silu replied with a smile.

She wrapped her arms around Heyao's neck, enjoying the experience of being carried. It was a new and pleasant feeling for her, different from before when she had been carried on their backs in animal form.

Now being carried by Heyao in this way felt both novel and exciting.

"As long as you like it. If it becomes uncomfortable at any point, just let me know, and I'll switch with Cheng Mo," Heyao said gently.

He didn't mind, as long as she was comfortable.

Though he longed to be close to her, he didn't want her to suffer.

"It's fine, being carried like this is great, it feels so fresh," Silu laughed.

She knew Heyao was worried about her and was concerned she might be uncomfortable.

"As long as you're happy. But remember, if you feel uncomfortable, you have to tell me, okay?" Heyao said.

"Don't worry, I'm fine. It's my first time breathing air this high up, and it's so fresh!" Silu teased.

"Tall people always have the benefit of fresher air. I'm so envious of you tall ones!" she said with admiration.

Indeed, being tall had its perks!

Though, in reality, she wasn't exactly short.

At 167 cm, she wasn't tall but certainly not short either.

Compared to the females on this continent, she was about average, though there were taller ones and shorter ones as well, just fewer tall ones.

"Is that so? You always notice the strangest things. But as long as you're happy, that's what matters," Heyao said affectionately.

"If you're tired, feel free to rest on my back for a while," he added tenderly.

"Don't worry, I'm fine. How could anything happen to me when I'm on your back?" Silu said.

They all treated her like she was so fragile, like a delicate porcelain doll that would shatter with the slightest touch.

There was no need for such fuss.

"Alright," Heyao said with a warm smile.

As they continued their journey, Baidi carried a small basket containing a pink-eared rabbit. Nans stared at Silu with his dark, deep eyes, filled with fascination.

He realized this little female was truly wonderful.

She wasn't as delicate or demanding as other females. On the contrary, she was considerate and kind to her beastmen husbands.

He was envious.

He had never thought about finding a mate before.

But after meeting Silu, he began to feel the desire for one.

If he could mate with such a lovely, enchanting little female, it would truly be a blessing.

Not only that, he found himself falling in love with Silu at first sight.

Seeing her smile made his heart swell with joy.

Being near her caused his heart to race, filling him with nervousness and anticipation.

He didn't know what these feelings were or why, but he could clearly feel that he liked Silu.

But would she like him?

The little white rabbit felt uneasy.

He wasn't a powerful beastman, just a small rabbit tribe member. Though his cultivation was decent, his rabbit form was naturally small and fragile, making him weak in battle.

When he looked at the other beastmen around her—a majestic tiger, a powerful snake, a strong deer, and a fox—all of them were stronger and more impressive than he was.

He felt like he didn't stand a chance.

But giving up didn't sit right with him either.

After finally meeting a female he liked, he didn't want to give up so easily.

Something inside him told him that this female was different.

After all, the black snake beside her was clearly a rogue beast, yet she had accepted him and made him one of her husbands. Nans could tell that she really liked Heyao. Otherwise, she wouldn't have taken him in.

Moreover, Heyao exuded a dangerous, powerful aura.

What surprised him even more was how well they all got along. Rogue beasts were usually despised and feared by females, who wouldn't even dare get close, let alone accept one as a husband. It was unheard of.

Yet Silu had done it.

This only confirmed that she was a truly special female.

She was brave and kind-hearted.

Maybe he had a chance after all.

Nans felt a surge of excitement.

He looked at Silu with even more warmth and passion.

Of course, Baidi noticed all of this.

He frowned.

This rabbit was bold, daring to have designs on their mate!

How outrageous.

Sure, their little female was indeed beautiful inside and out, but thinking he could join their family wasn't something that could be done easily.

And besides, this guy hadn't even healed from his injuries and was already getting ideas.
