Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 Current Situation

First, it could be confirmed that this world was indeed the kind of mutant world Bai Yi understood, with zombies, superpower users, and mutant creatures, none of these were absent.

The three were mutually hostile, with zombies lacking intelligence and forming their own faction, consisting of zombie humans and zombie animals. They roamed both in the cities and the suburbs.

The superpower users, on the other hand, had established shelters of varying scales with ordinary people. This was information released by a Lord who had contacted the White Poplar City Shelter, and these humans were mainly concentrated in what used to be cities.

Bai Yi had already seen mutant creatures, massive and powerful, occupying the vast wilderness that had reverted to a primitive state.

From the Lords currently speaking in the channel, the majority seemed to have descended onto cities, abandoned villages, or other areas with remnants of civilization. It was rare for one like Bai Yi to have landed in a pure wilderness.

At present, only four emerging Lords were noteworthy. One was Shuishui, who had established her territory early, claimed to own a warehouse, and sold a lot of food at high prices in the channel, taking only wood and stone in exchange.

The second was a Corpse King who just emerged, showing off and incidentally becoming enemies with Shuishui. The ability to control zombies was extraordinarily powerful in this world.

Going further back was a player named Anonymous.

He was said to have submitted a bug and got a game announcement. At that time, the name almost fooled many Lords, until someone sharp-eyed noticed something unusual and learned his Lord's name.

However, that was before Bai Yi established her territory, so Bai Yi did not receive this announcement.

Even earlier was Jun Lin, who had achieved the first first-tier kill when the server opened.

Looking at the chat records from that time, everyone was still venting their despair at crossing into this dangerous world and were helplessly calling for help, while this Lord named Jun Lin directly claimed the first-tier first kill.

He even posted in the channel to encourage others, helping many overcome their panic.

After this, he only surfaced once to advertise, trading practical items, food, and water for stone and wood, and then he vanished.

Besides that, there was no more information worth noting; after all, it hadn't even been two hours since everyone traveled over.

"It seems like everyone is more lacking water at the moment. Instead, no one's shouting for food, after all, everyone just crossed over."

Bai Yi also noticed this. She had crossed over before she even had a bite to eat after getting up, but despite running for such a long time, she didn't feel hungry yet.

Instead, due to the chase just now, she felt a bit parched.

"Could it be that crossing reset our bodies as well?"

*Continuing to ponder this question was meaningless*, so Bai Yi clicked into the Free Market.

There were quite a few items on consignment, mostly some stones and wood, with demands for water, a smaller portion for food, and several specific requirements, like specified bread, fresh blood flesh, or simply meat.

Besides these trades of varying prices, Bai Yi also saw that Jun Lin's items for trade were things like lighters and spears, all priced uniformly at 20 units of stone or 10 units of wood.

Bai Yi didn't see any trades for food or water up for consignment, but she immediately realized:

"Even if there were really food or water for sale, they'd be traded instantly, wouldn't they? How could anything be left?"

Continuing to browse the Free Market page, Bai Yi roughly counted the current market prices.

Specified types of food ranged around 20 units of stone or 10 units of wood. It appeared that this was the standard price established by Jun Lin's stable transactions, and 1 unit of water was also in this price range.

More common food, however, was much cheaper, approximately 2 units of food for 1 unit of water.

The prices for other tools weren't uniform, but all were much cheaper than water. Only the tools sold by Jun Lin could demand such high prices because their quality was all green.

Having roughly understood the price range of her giant boar pork, Bai Yi tried out the market listing function and found she could actually set who could see and trade.

Bai Yi's eyes lit up, and she instantly had an idea.

"I can list the pork in the store! As long as I set it to be visible only to myself, I can use it as a fridge!"

Without delay, Bai Yi immediately exited the panel, intending to check the card draw results, but the scene in front of her completely exceeded her expectations.

"What the hell!"

In front of Bai Yi was an untouched desktop and two piles of cards, one with rose backs and one with ladybug backs.

At this moment, Bai Yi had only one voice echoing in her mind:

"Oh my God, God, God, God, God!"

...

Outside the city of White Poplar, in an abandoned factory

Jun Lin threw the flames in his hand, burning the last zombie in front of him to death, the charred corpse falling to the ground.

He opened the panel and saw the conspicuous prompt from earlier.

"As expected, this Bai Yi took the first kill at this time, but luckily, in this life, I gained a second talent ability because of my rebirth, which allowed me to secure the first-tier first kill.

If I developed normally, it might not have been possible to grab it so quickly."

Yes, he was a reborn individual.

Recalling his previous life, although the panel warned him of some fire ability talent, he still lost his territory in the chaotic battle during the regional fusion and was taken out.

"I didn't expect to actually have a chance to be reborn and even get a second Lord talent!"

Gripping a blue dagger crafted with the new talent on his waist, Jun Lin shook his head helplessly:

"Really don't know how he did it, managing to kill the second-tier so quickly; he was too mysterious in his previous life, with no intelligence and even no Lord had seen his true appearance, just disappeared into thin air..."

He slowly walked to the side of the zombie's corpse and continued to recall his memories of the past life:

"However, according to the memories of the past life, these seven days of the adaptation period were the most crucial. Only by forming the territory quickly in these seven days can you secure a place in future challenges.

Ha, who knew at the time that this adaptation period was really just an adaptation period? If you didn't develop your territory properly, you'd die in the first monster invasion challenge.

Even if you barely survived, after resources became more and more scarce in the future, being weak was a capital offense!"

Jun Lin's tone sounded like self-mockery. He squatted down and viciously stabbed the dagger into the zombie's head, extracting a 1st rank crystal core from it.

"Now that I have the foresight advantage, I could collaborate with those big shots of the past life.

Now, they could be regarded as the most potential stocks, just needing a little investment to earn their friendship.

Coincidentally, the box opened a watermelon, perfect for giving to Fan Mao, who did planting. By getting in with Fan Mao, no matter how the territory develops in the future, at least there's no need to worry about food.

He was a benevolent man, Fan Mao!

Speaking of, Fan Mao was also mysterious, and no news about him was heard...

Tsk! Could it be that Fan Mao was actually Bai Yi?!"

...

Fan Mao: A mysterious food giant. Everyone suspected his Lord talent was related to planting. Though people often talked about robbing him, Fan Mao seemed completely unconcerned.

Instead, he frequently sold cheap food in the channel, aiding other Lords. During the worm disaster period, this saved quite a few people...
