Chapter 3 - Old enemy

Dax sat cross-legged, feeling his core undergo a profound transformation as an intoxicating surge of power welled up within him. It was as if the very fabric of his being was being rewritten, his cells vibrating with newfound energy.

Suddenly, a whirlpool manifested on his chest, drawing in a mysterious force that felt unlike anything he had ever encountered. The energy was raw, primal, and ancient, as if it had existed since the dawn of creation.

"Where is all this going?" Dax implored Inerous, his voice tinged with urgency.

"Inerous!" he called out again, desperation creeping into his tone.

"Arg!" Dax gritted his teeth against the pain that surged through him. Blood rushed to his eyes, and in an instant, nine rings appeared, wildly absorbing energy around him.

**Pop!**

Dax's eyes erupted, yet the absorption continued. His pain tolerance, honed through countless experiments he had inflicted on himself in the past, held strong.

The energy gathered in his eye sockets began to shape into a new pair of eyes. As Dax opened them, he was greeted by waves of energy swirling around him. He reached out, only to have his hands pass through them like mist.

In a cruel twist of fate, Dax felt his blood begin to dry up, and in that harrowing moment, his heart ceased to beat.

"This bastard is dead again!" Korg exclaimed, deeply confused.

Activating his eyes, Korg saw that Dax's heart had stopped beating.

**Lup dup, lup dup, lup dup.**

Instantly, Dax's heart started to beat again.

"I thought I was a goner for sure," Dax muttered, his voice shaky but relieved.

**Guard's P.O.V**

"Didn't you hear me? There's been a prison break!"

Reaching the guard's post, he saw everyone staring at the sky, frozen in fear. He followed their gaze and gasped. "What the f—"

Suddenly, he was hit by an intense pressure. There was a rift in the sky, but the rift wasn't the problem—it was the abomination descending from it.

**Current: The 7 Demon Kings**

The seven demon kings observed this entity through their World Pond. Kings recognized by the world's will are blessed with one of three options: a World Pond, Infinite Space Pocket, or the King's Will. These were the gifts presented to kings. It was possible to become a king without being recognized, but through raw power alone, one could not force the hand of the world—such an act would result in being smited by the world itself.

The Demon Emperor Belios had ensured all demon kings chose the World Pond. Combining all World Ponds gave the kings supreme oversight over the entire continent, a privilege only allowed in dire situations. In the case of emperors, they were blessed with all three gifts. The world favored the strong.

Belios, a fearsome presence in the demon realm, surpassed the unimaginable level of 700. He stood in awe, taken aback by the sight before him. This entity was devoid of any facial features, its head shrouded in a swirling black fog that resembled a haunting halo. In that moment, all Belios could sense was its unsettling presence.

"This guy is strong," Belios muttered, his battle intent surging.

"Rclactgh drffojbblatfrr! Where is that bastard? I know he's here!" the entity screeched, its voice echoing with rage.

"Screech!! Dr, I'll kill you! Return my horn!" It searched frantically for Dax.

"Hello, friend," Belios said, placing his hand on the entity's shoulder and smiling.

The entity recoiled, realization dawning on him. "Demon!!! Why is there a demon here?"

In the whole of time and space, demons were feared. The entity himself could be called a demon, but he wasn't a pureblood.

Without a moment of hesitation, the entity tore through space, trying to escape. But Belios was a fallen god. In a twinkle, Belios appeared behind him.

"You'll need more than that to outrun me," Belios said, his voice dripping with condescension.

The entity closed its eyes, releasing an unsettling calm. Instantly, ten black orbs appeared, each radiating a dangerous energy. Belios could clearly sense the threat they posed.

"What are you, exactly?" Belios asked, his tone curious but menacing.

"Annihilation Orbs," the entity replied.

Without hesitation, it launched the orbs at Belios, their trajectories erratic and unpredictable. At the same time, the entity appeared instantly at Belios's back, trying to block every path of escape.

Belios stood menacingly, embracing the attack. A wide grin spread across his face.

**Boom!!!**

The orbs exploded, their destructive force shaking the very fabric of reality.

"Fool! Dare to underestimate me," Belios said, his grin widening.

"Hahahaha, I haven't felt such damage in a while. Orbs that annihilate anything in their path," Belios mused, his tone almost appreciative. Then, his face turned serious.

"Why, why is this demon so strong? You are meant to be dead. That was my strongest attack," the entity stammered, its fear palpable.

"I know you're curious. I possess a passive called Dark Escapade. It grants me immunity to all attacks," Belios explained, his voice calm but laced with menace.

Stretching out his hand, Belios asked with a condescending tone, "Become my slave. You have a lovely ability."

The entity bristled at the suggestion. "Form 3: Killing Blow," it declared, its body beginning to change. Four wings sprouted from its back, and lights flickered where its eyes should have been. The orbs retracted into its body, and a purple aura surrounded it.

"I am the embodiment of Annihilation. I am Destruction. I only know killing," the entity declared, its voice resonating with power.

"Oh, so there is a being that can embody annihilation. I must get my hands on you. What are you, really?" Belios said, his excitement barely contained.

The entity's mind raced. *I will break through this impenetrable wall and retrieve my horn,* it thought.

Space began to crack under the pressure of its aura, the very fabric of reality straining to contain its power.

The guards spectating the battle were terrified. "All hail the Demon Emperor!!!" one of the demon generals screamed in excitement.

The emperor had shown himself to the world. They all knew he was a fallen god. It wasn't every day one laid eyes upon a deity.

**Dax's P.O.V**

"What's with all the commotion?" Dax said, breaking through his trance.

Looking at the ceiling, Dax realized he could see everything going on outside. His eyes locked onto the battle in the sky.

"Balarog," Dax muttered, his voice filled with shock. "Out of all my enemies, this bastard showed up."

*Master, do you remember the black clothing in your storage?*

"Yes," Dax replied.

*That is Balarog's horn. He tracked you through it. But Master, there is no cause for alarm. Your lab space is restricting its aura for now.*

"I made a mistake not killing him then, but this time, nothing will remain of him," Dax said, his voice cold and determined.

"Let me guess—this crazy sight is one of the features of Origin Eyes," Dax mused.

*Yes, Master.*

"This boy is a monster," Korg muttered to himself, utterly shocked by Dax's capabilities.
