They spend another few more years in the snowy land. The dog have pass away during the second year Bai Lu return back from the lotus flower. Di Jun ensure his friends that he will be having a second life soon once he pass the stage of nirvana. The goat have grown sad but not lonely. Di Jun use a spell to allow the goat to short cut her cultivation to a spiritual animal. However this shortcut doesn't allow her to have a voice. Hence she only can bleat. They spend days playing as much as they can.
Till one day Bai Lu ask his mother on the outside world. Both of them are squatting together under a tree. Watching the dark sky ahead.
"Why, why can't we go outside?"
"Your grand master said, too dangerous for you."
"What about you? Don't you miss going outside?"
"Yes i miss outside. I miss the puppet shows, the food on the streets, lanterns flying in the night sky."
"Mother! They sound so interesting! I want to see lanterns! How do they look like? How they fly?!"
Hu Li spend time to explain to Bai Lu on the mechanics of a lantern. He is fascinated by the ideal of a lantern fly in the sky.
"Some day, i want to ride one."
"How can you? You are bigger than a lantern!"
"Then i will learn to construct a biggest lantern! Maybe you can go up to the sky!"
Hu Li laugh this child have big ambition. It will fuel him to continue this long life.
The following year, the sky rumble continuously and the lighting is getting more frequent. Even though the cave house is spacious and big, seven of them are bored constantly staying at home. Especially Bai Lu who is a new born, he wants to go outside even if it is raining. Hu Li encourage him to draw and design his lantern . The spiritual animals assist him to built up what he had design and hang most of it on the ceiling. Di Jun every few days return to see a new lantern up on the ceiling. One of those days, Di Jun and Hu Li sit outside watching the rain drizzle.
"Bai Xia reminded me to have the portal open for you and the others. So that you all can go in and out freely."
"Are you sure you want to open it?"
"No i don't want to do that. However she remind me that you all need the freedom and choices that comes with it. That's when everyone can grown and cultivate their own destiny."
"I, don't want Bai Lu to step into his father's world. It is corrupted. I fear he will step into his... shoes."
"Hu Li, you have grow up."
She is surprise to hear that from him. They look at each other and she look away.
"Am i becoming like you?"
"Who knows. You used to be bubbly and energetic. Always have a lot of question. Now you are calm and indifferent to alot of things."
"Try living in that human world for awhile. Anyone of us will be like Bai Xia. Indifference and less energy to deal with life."
They continue to sit there and sip their cup of tea. Watching the rain and the thunder is the one of the things they do as family.
"I will open the portal for you and everyone. Only people who belongs to the mystical beast will able to walk in and out. Only with the exception of Bai Lu. However i doubt any human will ..."

After many months, Hu Li wakes up to find an empty cave house. As always her son will be dragging the rest to play outside the snow. So she did not do much but lay around. The goat girl is bleating and waving but Hu Li ignore her. Finally she gets up and ask why is she so noisy. Goat girl continue to point outside. Hu LI goes out to see nothing and goes back in. She sits on her desk and she see a message on the paper. Her son who haven't learn to write yet. Have drawn stick men on the paper. Three big stick men and two small stick men walking towards a hole. The hole is behind a tree. Hu Li close her eyes and open them up. She slam her hands on the table. She look at goat girl.
"Follow me. Let's go chase them."
She put on her nice garment along with the boots that DI Jun given to her long ago. She look at goat girl who can't talk.
"When we are on the other side, don't talk. Don't make noise. Your appearance is alike any other young girl over there so you won't be discover to be different. Understand? If they find you are a goat, they might slaughter you."
Goat girl swallow her saliva hard and bleat.
"Also you name is Yang Yang. Understand?"
She bleat and cover her mouth.
On the human world. Hu Li can smell the scent of her son thus she follows along. She is not worrying as she knows that the dogs are with him. Huan Xi the little mouse even though a small girl. She knows what to do to protect the little master. Hu Li and Yang Yang travel over a few days. Hu Li finds that the route is familiar as she walks. Hu Li and Yang Yang sleep in a barn for the night when she small a familiar smell. An old friends is nearby. She push herself to sit up and stare at the entrance of the barn. A shadow appear.
"Where have you been my love?"
Yang Yang who is sleep tight got up started and hide behind her master.
"Come in. You scare my girl. Don't worry, he won't eat you. If he try, i won't allow it."
Hei Shi Ren walk in and sit down. He smile and show his bloody mouth. However he soon close his eyes and collapse on the hay.
