Hu Li continue to sleep for three months. While outside the lotus flower continue to move gently against the bubbles that is floating around. Di Jun as promise come by every three days. He constantly read the pulse of Hu Li. He feed her with honey while she is asleep.
Everyday life in the cave house is usual. Only that the dog is getting old. He is showing signs of aging. Having less energy to run around. Even the goat cannot make him chase her. She sits beside the dog everyday. Sometimes, she will get up and play with Huan Xi but she keep her eye on the dog.
Hu Li finally wakes up. She stretch and yawn like any living beings. She look around and walk to her vanity table. From the mirror she see her human face is as per usual. The hair on her body are still white like snow. Her eyes seems to be dull and the sparks are lesser. She comb her hair and remember that she is going to have a child soon. She look at her flat belly and sigh. The old dog in the corner bark to greet her. She smile and walk up to him. Asking him how is he and cuddle him fondly. He is happy to see her all heal so he wag his tail to show her that he is happy.
She walk out of the cave house to find the rest of her friends at the river. Washing clothes in the cold river. She see the huge louts in the river. It reminded her of the lotus cave up in the sky where she cultivated in one of it to become who she is today. However this one is special. It is surrounded by a shield and bubbles. The wind blows gently and the flower sways with the flow of direction. While the three who are washing clothes scream when they see Hu Li standing there. They surround her with happiness. They cry and yell for Huan Xi and the goat. The mouse on the goat come running when they hears screams. Huan Xi morph back to her human form when she see Hu Li. She run and hug her just like how the first time they meet.
Hu Li point to the lotus flower. 'Who' she whispers. They all look at the louts flower.
"Master do you remember anything else before you sleep for a long time?"
"No."
"Master did you know you have a baby."
"Yes, i am still waiting for it."
"Master... you have already give birth to him."
"WHAT? When?"
They all sit down in the cold weather and tell her what had happen.
"So my son is inside here?"
"Yes, grand master says to make the child, better."
That night, Hu Li sits by her study desk. She stare at the scrolls on it. One is her own human portrait and the other is the scroll that used to trap her in. She unroll the scrolls and stare at it. The ink somehow have lighten on the scroll that have trapped her in. The other, the paper have becomes yellowish and the girl in the painting have becomes distorted. Hu Li stare at the two scrolls and thank of the nicer days when Sheng Qin is her everything. He needed her and he loved her. Now he probably have forgotten her. The tiger is correct about the humans are greedy. They more they have, the more they want. There is no end to their greed. Hu Li make a mental note that to tell her son not to be greedy. He can be greedy for her attention but not other things. He cannot be like Sheng Qin as he grows up.
It takes another eight years for the lotus to start acting strange. The bubbles inside begin to decrease. The glow becomes more intensive and the lotus is swaying like it's going to fall. Everyday Hu Li stands by the river look at the lotus. Somedays the whole group sits nearby with food on their bowls. They eat and talk to the child who is in the flower. Sometimes, they can hear soft mumbling.
One day, the lotus flower opens up and it lower itself. Di Jun appear out of no where. Hu Li runs to greet her master. However they is an unfamiliarity between them now. She bow to him for the first time. In his heart, he feels an emotion of sadness. This Hu Li have change, she used to run to him and hug him now it's different. They all gather to watch the lotus flower as it sways while lowering down. It takes forever for the lotus flower to lower, everyone is eager to see the child who is hidden in the flower for so long. As it lower, Hu Li can see the hair. Next, she see a small hand. When the flower finally touch the snow on the ground, A little boy jump out. Mischievous looking, he looks around and see his mother. He run to her and hug her leg.
"Mother!"
"Bai Lu."
Hu Li pat his head slowly and squad down. She look at her son who have grown quite a lot in the lotus flower. He doesn't have any appearances of a beast. Everything on him looks like a human. His eyes is not fully dark. It now have whites however if one stare into his eyes, they can see the cosmo skys inside that blinks like star in the sky.
Di Jun look at Bai Lu carefully. While Bai Lu look at him with a smile.
"I know you! You are that white hair old man who try to wake me up while i sleep. Are you family?"
He nod his head. Bai Lu move closer to him and take a string of his long white hair and he take another string of his mother's hair.
"Aren't they the same?"
They all laugh. Dong Mei who rush in the cave house comes out with a blanket for Bai Lu. He look at her.
"I remember you. You carry me long ago."
She smile and nod her head. Her tail wiggle behind fast. Her eyes fill with tears of happiness. Hu Li lift him up together with the blanket and they walk in the cave house. While Di Jun with his spell put back where the lotus flower should be. He enter the cave house to ding them all fussing with Bai Lu.
