Chapter 256 - Chapter 51: Sudden Bad News

Not long after.

After dealing with the last Gastrea, Nia Honjo let out a breath and put away the Rasiel in her hand.

This time, she had no intention of engaging in hand-to-hand combat with the Gastrea.

By drawing the scenes of the Gastrea creatures' deaths on the blank pages of the Whispering Page, the power of Future Records was activated. Naturally, the Gastrea creatures close to her couldn't resist this force and exploded one after another.

"Ms. Honjo... what on earth is this...?"

Having witnessed Nia Honjo abilities with her own eyes, the Holy Emperor, who had been in shock from beginning to end, covered her mouth and couldn't help but ask.

She knew that Nia Honjo claimed to be omniscient and omnipotent.

But before this, she had only seen the omniscient side.

In the battle just now, the Holy Emperor, who had been standing next to Nia Honjo and saw her decide the opponents' life or death with just a few casual strokes, felt that her worldview was about to collapse again.

"Simply put, everything I draw will become reality," Nia Honjo explained.

Facing the Holy Emperor, Nia Honjo didn't hide anything and openly told her about the other ability of Rasiel.

Hearing her affirmative answer, the Holy Emperor eyes sparkled even more.

Apostle of God.

A genuine messenger of God.

This was no longer a level that any mechanical warrior could achieve.

Only someone truly endowed with power by God could possess such great abilities.

"Can you do anything? Even bring the dead back to life?" the Holy Emperor asked in awe.

"Ah..." Nia Honjo coughed awkwardly twice. "Let me correct what I just said. Just like my omniscience isn't true omniscience, my omnipotence also has many limitations, and resurrection is one of them."

The blank pages of the Rasiel had more restrictions than the search pages.

After all, the ability to record the future was an extremely rare causal ability among all the Spirit Girls.

The more the scene defied common sense, the more spiritual energy it consumed.

For example, if a person with heart disease was made to die of a heart attack, not much spiritual energy would be consumed.

But if a healthy person was made to die of a heart attack, the amount of spiritual energy consumed would increase exponentially.

Nia Honjo had just used Future Records on the blank pages of the Whispering Tome to kill most of the Gastrea creatures here, which had already consumed a significant amount of her spiritual energy.

If she could use the search page to find their weaknesses first and then exploit those weaknesses to kill them, the spiritual energy consumed would be much less.

However, in the situation just now, there had been no time to find the weaknesses of every Gastrea.

Future Records was indeed a very useful ability.

However, in terms of pure efficiency in killing enemies, Nia Honjo still missed the simplicity and brutality of direct combat.

After hearing Nia Honjo admit that her abilities were somewhat limited, the Holy Emperor admiration for her remained undiminished.

After all, if Nia Honjo were truly omniscient and omnipotent, she would be a real god.

But even with limitations, the abilities Nia Honjo had demonstrated so far had already exceeded the Holy Emperor imagination.

With this power, changing Tokyo was only a matter of time.

Even changing the whole world wasn't impossible.

"What are you going to do about the Wuxiang Society?" Nia Honjo asked. "They won't give up. You need to be prepared to deal with them."

"Indeed."

Seeing that Nia Honjo had brought up the serious matter, the Holy Emperor put away her admiring expression and began to consider things from the perspective of Tokyo as a whole.

Nia Honjo didn't interrupt or offer any suggestions; she just waited quietly.

Given her personality, it was hard to say much.

Party struggles, political fights, diplomacy these things had nothing to do with her.

After all, Nia Honjo was just an otaku who had escaped into the two-dimensional world because she was disappointed with the three-dimensional world.

Using the excuse of helping the Cursed Children and standing behind the Holy Emperor as an unknown shadow advisor was already her limit.

If she actively involved herself in politics, it would be totally out of character.

But if the Holy Emperor asked sincerely, she might be merciful and offer some advice.

If the Holy Emperor didn't intend to do so, then Nia Honjo had no choice but to stay silent.

"I want to try to negotiate with the Wuxiang Society," the Holy Emperor finally said after a long pause, her expression serious.

But this answer made Nia Honjo burst out laughing.

"You... you were kidnapped and almost killed, but you still want to negotiate with them?" Nia Honjo asked with a smile. "I thought you were going to ask me to draw all the members of the Wuxiang Society to death."

"They are a force rooted all over the world. They have people at the top of every industry. If we do that, the consequences would be disastrous," the Holy Emperor said with a wry smile. "I believe violence isn't the only way to solve the problem. Besides, Miss Honjo, you wouldn't agree to such a request, right?"

Nia Honjo shrugged noncommittally.

This answer was very consistent with the Holy Emperor character.

An idealist who believed in the goodness of human nature.

Even with an organization like the Wuxiang Society, she hoped to resolve their differences through communication.

However, Nia Honjo knew this was impossible.

The Holy Emperor was an idealist, and so was the Wuxiang Society.

It was extremely foolish for two idealists to come together and hope to convince each other with their respective ideals.

It was impossible for the Holy Emperor to agree to the Wuxiang Society's conditions, and it was equally impossible for the Wuxiang Society to stop its steps toward conquering the world.

To solve this serious problem, Nia Honjo had to think of another way.

"Forget it, it's too late now. It's hard to come up with an answer to such an important matter in a short time. I'd better send you back to the Holy Residence first."

"The Holy Residence... isn't it safe?"

"Don't worry, I'll have Rentaro be your bodyguard. You know his strength, right?"

Just as the two were talking, a deafening explosion echoed through the air.

The sound of the explosion pierced the sky and was heard almost throughout the Tokyo area.

Nia Honjo and the Holy Emperor, who had been relieved that the crisis was over, immediately felt their hearts leap into their throats as they looked toward the direction of the sound.

Then, their pupils contracted in shock.

The Monolith the towering black stone monument that stood like a giant had been cut in half and was collapsing before their eyes.

"How is this possible?!"

Seeing the Monolith, which had stood tall for so long, now falling in two parts, Nia Honjo was momentarily stunned.

Even according to the timeline of the original story, it would have taken at least half a month before the Monolith actually collapsed.

What on earth had happened to cause it to collapse so suddenly?

However, at this moment, the Holy Emperor no longer had the energy to think about the reasons.

Because endless fear had swept through her entire body.

Outside the Monolith, tens of thousands of Gastrea creatures were gathered.

With the current number of troops and police in Tokyo, they were simply unable to resist the vast tide of beasts.

Not to mention, after the news that the new Monolith was about to be built had been announced that morning, the troops and police originally stationed near the Monolith had been disbanded and returned to their respective posts.

In other words, the front line was undefended.

The Gastrea creatures would trample Tokyo as if it were an empty land.

The Holy Emperor felt dizzy, her legs went weak, and she fainted on the ground.

Tokyo was finished.
