Chapter 265: Zhao Wuji
"Brother Qian, Brother Zhao, show yourselves!" Feng Cang's call resonated, and with it, powerful auras flooded the arena. The crowd looked up in shock as a wave of formidable figures suddenly appeared, dividing into two distinct groups.
Among the spectators, even Mu Lin's expression shifted as he felt the intense pressure these new arrivals radiated. Nearby, a woman in white, her expression troubled, murmured, "So the Storm Dynasty really called for backup from the core region's Super Dynasties." This was Mu Hanyue, who had met Lin Langtian once before. Clenching her delicate fists, she looked anxiously toward where Lin Langtian stood.
"Feng Cang's ruthlessness knows no bounds," Mu Lin murmured to Mu Hanyue, his gaze cold as it settled on the smirking Feng Cang. "Before he was certain of Lin Langtian's defeat, he sought alliances with the Qian and Zhao Dynasties, knowing they held grudges against him. Feng Cang may have gotten a Heaven-grade treasure, but his venomous methods are what make him truly dangerous."
Mu Hanyue's brows knitted in concern. "If he gets his hands on the sealed Spirit Mark in Su Rou, no one in Wanxiang City, or even on the ancient battlefield, will be able to stop him."
"Maybe not," Mu Lin said, glancing toward Lin Langtian, "The Qian Dynasty's leader, Qian Jin, is reasonable. If Lin Langtian yields and apologizes, Qian Jin might spare him. But the Zhao Dynasty leader, Zhao Wuji, is another matter—vicious and unforgiving, much like Meng Lie and Feng Cang combined. Lin Langtian stole the Wood Emperor's inheritance right out of Zhao Wuji's hands. Zhao Wuji will never forgive that."
"Is this where the greatest 'dark horse' of the Hundred Dynasty War finally falls?" Mu Hanyue whispered, her gaze lingering on Lin Langtian.
Lin Langtian watched the newly arrived forces with a calm, indifferent expression. Among them, he recognized two familiar faces from the ancient ruins, figures who had stood against him before: the "Heaven King" Luo Yantian and "Mountain General" Mu Huang from the Qian Dynasty.
"The Qian Dynasty…" Lin Langtian murmured, now understanding who he was dealing with. He noted that Mu Huang was accompanied by three others, all in the Four-Yuan Nirvana Stage, while two burly figures beside Luo Yantian exuded an even stronger Five-Yuan aura. These two were clearly the other two "kings" rumored to lead the Qian Dynasty.
One of the figures, a man with a square jaw and a composed demeanor, stepped forward and nodded toward Lin Langtian. "You must be Lin Langtian. I am Qian Jin. Regarding the incident with the Four-Mystic Sect inheritance, the Qian Dynasty was in the wrong, and for that, I apologize. We're not here for revenge. My brothers simply wish to test their skills against you one more time."
Qian Jin, the leader of the Qian Dynasty, had initially been hesitant to involve himself. He knew Lin Langtian was no ordinary opponent, a "golden-scaled dragon" who had risen from the brutal ancient battlefield despite his humble background.
Though the previous encounter was just a misunderstanding, Feng Cang's invitation to join his forces was hard to refuse. By framing their challenge as an opportunity for his men to "test their skills," Qian Jin maintained the Qian Dynasty's dignity without necessarily provoking Lin Langtian.
Lin Langtian, who had assumed these men came seeking a fight, raised an eyebrow, sensing Qian Jin's motives. "There's no need to apologize, Brother Qian. Clashes are inevitable in this world. As for a duel, once I've handled this immediate issue, I'll gladly oblige."
But just as Lin Langtian and Qian Jin exchanged respectful words, a mocking voice cut through the air.
"Qian Jin, are you really trying to make friends with someone from a lesser dynasty? What a disgrace for a Super Dynasty!"
Lin Langtian's gaze shifted to the speaker, another cluster of powerful figures. A slender young man stood at the forefront, dressed in an elaborate black robe adorned with dragon and python motifs. Though he had a noble air, his harsh expression marred his natural grace.
"The Crown Prince of the Zhao Dynasty, Zhao Wuji," Lin Langtian thought.
Zhao Wuji was a figure of remarkable status. The son of a Zhao Dynasty Prince, he combined a privileged background with immense talent, which had fostered in him an arrogant and ruthless character.
Behind Zhao Wuji stood three powerful individuals, each exuding an aura of the Five-Yuan Nirvana Stage, known as the "Three Commanders of the Zhao Dynasty." With them were dozens of other formidable warriors, ten of whom had auras approaching that of Luo Tong, the former first of the Nirvana List, all strong Four-Yuan warriors.
In sheer numbers and strength, the Zhao Dynasty far outmatched even the Qian Dynasty, which was no surprise given its place among the Top Ten Super Dynasties.
Zhao Wuji's icy gaze locked onto Lin Langtian, a sinister smirk twisting his lips. His voice, dripping with cruelty, reverberated across the arena.
"To think you'd steal from the Zhao Dynasty—foolish and bold. Your life is mine, Lin Langtian."
