Jiang Haidai flinched upon hearing the sudden cry. She turned and looked behind her when she saw a zombie rushing right towards her. The speed of this zombie was faster than the ones that she had dealt with and it was much more ferocious.
Seeing the monster suddenly attack her, Jiang Haidai stiffened but even in the face of danger, her maternal instincts kicked in. she covered her belly with her arm and turned her back on the zombie while hugging her son; she crouched down.
With her eyes closed, she waited for the zombie to bite her to death, but the pain she was waiting for didn't come. Startled, she raised her head and opened one of her eyes and peeked at the zombie behind her but as soon as she raised her head, she saw Bai Meiyue throwing the zombie to one side.
"What are you waiting for?" Bai Meiyue asked with a raised brow. She looked at the woman who was crouching on the ground and stated, "Get up, or are you going to stay here and become the meal for the zombies?"
