Evan felt that he had discovered some incredible truth.

At first, Evan thought that his Psychic powers were similar to Sabrina's—uncontrollable and prone to going berserk.

But when he thought about it carefully, something seemed off.

The growth rate was too fast.

Evan even wondered if this might have something to do with his time travel. Could his mental power have skyrocketed because of it? Many novels were written like that, weren't they?

Evan had always felt that this explained his situation.

"Well," Evan mused, "should I come up with some experiments for myself to try?"

As soon as the idea occurred to him, Evan gasped in shock.

Could it be that this was someone else's influence?

How abominable.

A ridiculous thought even crossed his mind: What if he put himself in a Poké Ball?!

"Gah!!" Evan shook his head. "No way!"

The idea startled him so much he was truly taken aback.

"I'm not a Pokémon, so how could I be caught in a Poké Ball?!"

Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.

Pushing the strange ideas aside, Evan focused on the task at hand. He turned to Gardevoir and said, "Gardevoir, I want you to teach me how to control my mental power. Let's see if I can finally get this under control."

"After all these years, I've had enough of my Psychic going berserk," Evan muttered.

Truthfully, while his Psychic powers were strong, they weren't very reliable.

Using Teleport, for example, often ended with him embedded in a wall.

No control whatsoever.

Whenever he tried to focus, something would always go wrong.

It wasn't as if he hadn't tried practicing. But after a failed Teleport attempt landed him face-first in the mud, he sealed away the move completely.

"Now," Evan resolved, "it's time to lift that seal."

He raised his hand dramatically, declaring, "Psychic powers hidden within! Show your true strength before me! I, Evan, command you to lift the seal!"

He shouted this with conviction.

Hearing Evan's declaration, his Pokémon stared at him, utterly baffled.

"What's the matter, Master?" Gardevoir asked, tilting her head in confusion.

Evan coughed, his face turning slightly red. "Ahem, nothing. Just... let's begin. Teach me how to use Psychic properly. I want to control my abilities."

He turned to Gallade and added, "Gallade, you take over Gardevoir's role and continue training with the others. Gardevoir, follow me."

With that, Evan pulled Gardevoir aside and began their training.

As the queen of Psychic Pokémon, Gardevoir had her own deep understanding of such powers. She readily agreed to Evan's request and began testing the extent of his Psychic abilities.

After some thorough testing, Gardevoir shared her findings.

"Master," Gardevoir said, "your current Psychic strength is at a quasi-Elite level. You can control it to this extent, but anything beyond this threshold risks a loss of control. That would trigger unintended effects."

She continued, "So, what you should do now is work on controlling it bit by bit. Gradually master the unused portions of your Psychic energy."

Evan nodded in understanding but sighed. "I get it, but it's really tough. One wrong move, and it spirals out of control."

He scratched his head in frustration.

It wasn't as though he hadn't tried. He just couldn't seem to do it.

A little push beyond the limits would trigger a dangerous chain reaction.

Whenever Evan used his Psychic powers, he had to tread carefully, never daring to push beyond the safe zone.

"It's alright," Gardevoir assured him, her eyes gleaming with determination. "I have a new idea."

"Do you still remember what happened when I Mega Evolved?" Gardevoir asked. "I can extract spiritual power from you, Master."

"That means I can help you. If you can't control it, I'll just take away some of your mental power. This will quickly reduce your mental energy, allowing you to manage it more effectively."

As Gardevoir explained, Evan's eyes lit up with realization.

"Understood!" he exclaimed. "Let's give it a try, then?"

Evan grasped the general idea: Gardevoir would assist him in controlling his turbulent mental power. Eager to start, he could hardly contain his excitement. However, Gardevoir shook her head, signaling her refusal.

"Before that, Master needs to learn a move first," Gardevoir stated.

"What move?" Evan asked, curious.

"Calm Mind," Gardevoir replied. "Calm Mind helps to steady the mind and improves Psychic control. If you learn it, you'll find it much easier to manage your abilities. Even if your Psychic energy goes berserk, this skill can help you stabilize."

Although there was now a clear path forward, Gardevoir insisted that Evan first focus on learning Calm Mind.

It was known that humans with Psychic abilities could perform incredible feats—Teleportation, telekinesis, and even using super-effective Psychic-type moves. Some could even wield Future Sight, predicting events to come.

Though these abilities manifested differently in humans compared to Pokémon, they showed that humans could learn skills from Pokémon. For example, Aura heroes could harness Aura Sphere. If others could accomplish such feats, Evan believed he could master Calm Mind too.

Of course, learning these skills came at a cost. They required a vast reservoir of mental energy. Most humans, even those with Psychic abilities, would struggle with basic moves. Mastering a move like Teleport that could span several kilometers was a rare and elite-level achievement.

But Evan? His Psychic powers were so monstrous they defied human limitations. If Gardevoir hadn't witnessed Evan's humanity firsthand, she might have thought he was Mew in disguise. After all, Mew could transform into a human. But Evan's inability to fit into a Poké Ball proved otherwise.

Gardevoir started teaching Evan how to use Calm Mind. For hours, Evan focused on honing the skill. As the sun dipped below the horizon, he had barely managed to grasp the basics.

Evan sighed, thinking it was taking forever to learn.

Noticing this, Gardevoir rolled her eyes in exasperation.
