The boardroom of Grayson Enterprises was filled with tension.
Around the long, polished table, the board members sat stiffly in their expensive suits, their faces set with varying degrees of skepticism, disapproval, and frustration.
At the head of the table, Ethan sat in his chair, his hands steepled together as he listened.
His sharp eyes moved from one person to the next, absorbing their words without reaction. He was calm, composed, but there was an undeniable air of authority about him.
"…and I still believe this project is a huge risk," one of the older board members, Mr. Calloway, said, adjusting his glasses.
"Expanding into the international market at this point, after everything that has happened, could bring us more losses than gains."
"Here we go again," Ethan exhaled slowly.
Mr. Calloway wasn't the only one who felt this way. Several of the board members had been on edge ever since Ethan's scandal hit the media.
