The one thing that I hated more than anything else in this world was being bored.
Seriously.
Torture me, rip my arms off my body, burn me with cigarettes, cut me up like … well, you get the point. But whatever you do, don't leave me tied to a chair with nothing to do but be in my own head.
I was starting to go batty, and it hadn't even been a full day since Adam plucked me off the streets with a gun to my head. Could we go back to that? I could so do with a gun to my head. Just… give me something to do.
"Sorry it took so long," announced Gerald as he opened the door to my room. "But I guess you were pretty happy to have been left alone all this time."
"Oh, sure," I assured him, rolling my eyes. "Being left here without anything to do is definitely my idea of a great time. How about next time, you stab a pencil into my eye first? That would make it even better."
The smile on Gerald's face froze as he looked at me. "I can't tell if you are joking or not."
