The next day arrived and Lilah took to paying off all of her unpaid bills, with all of her debts paid a new and refreshing future for her business has arrived. Also the kids got an unbelievable amount of money for her so she had bunches of it left over.
But Kaito has now also fully healed up and he is able to return to his adventures once more. A fact that made both Dante and Lilah a bit sad. They had both gotten rather used to Kaito being around having him gone would be a bit sour.
Lilah will hug Kaito. "I'll be seeing you around I hope." Lilah says to him. Kaito nods. "Don't worry auntie, after i'm done with the adventure i'll be sure to visit you." Kaito assures her.
Lilah nods. "Si si, that would make me happy, you wouldn't wanna make your auntie sad would you?!" Lilah dramatically says as Kaito laughs. "Of course not."
Dante who had been silent this entire time speaks up. "Right, uhm goodbye Kaito, listen thank you for uh, everything really, I did a lot of stuff I never really thought I would do, so i'm really gonna miss you." Dante says as he manages to gain the courage to look up at Kaito.
But when he looks up he sees Kaito doesn't look interested in his goodbye, actually he looks rather tired by it. "What's with that face!?" Dante questions. "I'm pouring my heart out man!" Dante complains.
"Because what you saying goodbye for!?" Kaito shouts back at him. Dante is confused by his question and Kaito laughs. "You're coming with me aren't you?" Kaito asks him.
Dante spits out a drink he doesn't even have and he looks baffled, he turns to look at Lilah and she's laughing at him. "Well you are a mage now, and I think Kaito would make a good fit for you." Lilah says.
Dante looks at them both confused. "You two spoke about this already?!" Dante shouts. Lilah giggles. "Of course, Kaito actually asked me if it would be ok, he really likes having you around." Lilah says and Dante looks at Kaito shocked.
For the longest time, Dante had believed he was destined to be alone—trapped in a life where friendship was something meant for others, not for him. He had carried that weight for so long, it had started to feel like truth. But now, in this quiet, unbelievable moment, he's standing in front of someone who actually sees him—and wants him. Kaito, who seems almost impossibly amazing in Dante's eyes, chooses him.
Even after learning the truth, that Dante had lied, that he wasn't strong, that he couldn't even wield a sword like he claimed, Kaito didn't turn away. He stayed. And that simple act, that quiet acceptance, wrapped around Dante's heart like warmth he hadn't felt in years. It was the first crack in the walls he'd built so high. For the first time, maybe… he wasn't alone anymore.
Dante wipes away the tear that almost fell from his eye. "Are you serious!? Y-yeah i'll come with you dude totally!" Dante yells happily. Dante smile brightens more then it has in a long time. "I'm gonna be the greatest hero around!" Dante shouts.
Lilah laughs as she hands him something.
It was a sword still inside of it's sheath. Dante looks up at her shocked, "is this for me?" He asks. Lilah nods, "it's the sword you father had used back when we were adventurers." She says and Dante's jaw drops again.
"You used to be an adventurer?!" Dante questions his mother shocked. Lilah laughs. "Oh did I forget to mention that?" She asks while laughing to herself.
Lilah laughs. "Before you go do you want to hear some of my old stories?" Lilah asks. Dante nods. "Yeah, could you tell me about dad too?" Dante asks as they sit at the table. "Of course." Lilah says.
Kaito sits with them as Lucki hops on the table, Lilah details her adventures with her husband and her party. She tells Dante fantastic stories with some funny things mixed in between.
"You guys beat a gargantuan monster before?!" Dante says shocked. Lilah laughs as she continues telling her story.
After a few hours she checks the time and laughs. "I'm rambling now I should let you two go." She says.
Dante sighs. "It was a good story though I could've kept listening." Dante says.
Lilah shakes her head. "No need to listen to my story Dante, you're about to go out and make one of your own. Your story begins here, don't let anyone detour you from that path." Lilah says as she hugs Dante.
"I'm sorry I didn't believe in you all that time ago Dante, I believe now and you will be great I can see it." She tells him. Dante hugs her back. "Thank you mom." He says, a weight being lifted off of him again.
Kaito pets Lucki, "Auntie is it ok if you take care of Lucki?" Kaito asks. Lilah nods. "Of course I can keep him, it'll help keep me from being lonely." She agrees.
Kaito laughs. "As long as you don't become a crazy cat lady." Kaito says, Lilah looks at him with a side eye.
The two pack up. "Bye bye now, you two be safe!" Lilah says as she waves goodbye to them. "Bye mama!" Dante shouts. "Bye auntie!" Kaito also shouts.
"And bring him back in one piece!" Lilah shouts. "I promise he'll be safe!" Kaito shouts back.
With that the two of them leave, but something still unease's Lilah. All that time ago that's not the only thing Kenta had said, there was a visit late night from him.
Lilah shakes her head, not letting it distract her, besides it's just two kids going on travels. What's the worse they could get into.
After the boys we already gonna Nyla looks around.
She sees the messed up lower quarter and she hears off everything Kaito has done since he's left. But after she goes to Lilah's in and sees that he actually did a good deed and stopped the Mozam gang. She is once again curious about him.
"Kaito Nakaya, just who are you." She questions. "Ready my carriage and tell father i'll return soon. I must have answers." She says.
