A few hours earlier,
Pov Evelyn,
I knocked on Professor Lupin's door because I had a very good idea: to use the werewolf form under aconite to track down Peter and catch him.
Unfortunately, there was no one in the room, and the Marauder's Map was still open, allowing any curious person to discover its secret.
Taking it, I saw the name "Severus Snape" moving toward the Whomping Willow and then disappearing.
Assuming that he had come to deliver the potion to Professor Lupin but found him absent, and knowing that Professor Snape wouldn't go in that direction without a reason, I concluded there was a good chance Peter had been located, and Snape would probably catch him.
But the problem was that it was a full moon night, and Professor Lupin, who hadn't taken his potion, would be violent.
Without thinking further, I took the map, tucked it under my dress, and went in search of Marie.
When I saw her, she was heading to the Great Hall for dinner.
"Here you are! How was your interview with Professor Lupin?"
"Come with me."
"Wait, at least tell me why."
"The rat got caught by the dog."
Once outside, I started running toward the Whomping Willow before they could come out of it.
"Why can't I eat first?"
I briefly explained the situation, and I'm sure she understood.
At one point, I felt Hermione's familiar magic, and I turned to greet her without disturbing her because she was probably from the future.
They went to enter from the Forbidden Forest, hiding in the shadows while waiting for him to arrive. Finally, Crookshanks was the first to come out of the Willow, and I gave a whistle to attract him.
"We still need you; we'll have to track down Peter."
And as expected, Professor Lupin turned into a werewolf, and Pettigrew took advantage of it to escape in his rat form.
Marie was on a tree branch, ready to attack like a sniper.
She used her magic eyes for better precision and took a deep breath before attacking.
"Stupefy!"
Unfortunately, Pettigrew's instincts were so sharp that he narrowly avoided the Stunning Charm.
"Crookshanks, attack!"
Sensing multiple threats, the rat began to flee from us.
"Muscle strengthening!"
We chased after him, using our magic eyes to keep him in sight and catch up.
"Bombarda!"
That rat's instincts were too good — the explosion didn't send him flying.
"You won't get away that easily!"
Marie increased her speed, overtaking the rat, but it suddenly changed direction, causing the cat to leap onto Marie, knocking the wind out of her.
"Incendio!"
This was no longer the time to let him act freely — we had to lure him into a place that would suit us.
This rat was really elusive; I now understood how he had managed to escape us all.
Suddenly, a chill settled over us, and turning our attention, we saw a hundred Dementors attacking Harry and the others. Even though two corporeal Patronuses were there, they weren't powerful enough.
"Marie, use your Patronus!"
"Expecto Patronum!"
As I suspected, her Patronus would only appear when Dementors were present. Because of that, the Dementors fled, and Marie's true Patronus disappeared without harming anyone.
"You'll stop running and face your dirty, treacherous fate!"
Lightning crackled from Marie's wand, destroying three trees but missing the rat.
"This isn't possible... It's almost like fate doesn't want him to be caught!"
"No matter what fate says, we'll prove that we will catch him!"
I don't know how long we stayed in the forest, but Pettigrew was probably relieved when we finally left. We lured him into the castle to capture him once and for all, only to find the place heavily damaged and on fire.
