Chapter 118 - End of the golden trio

"You got a problem, Neville?"

"Yes, I can't find the passwords that I wrote down on a piece of paper."

After the Halloween incident, the guard of the Gryffindor common room changed, and the new one turned out to be very bad.

Compared to us, the Gryffindors have a password system, and the current keeper can change it whenever he wants.

This is a big problem for Neville because he often forgets the current passwords. So, he wrote them down on a sheet of paper, but it seems to have disappeared.

"That is a problem indeed. Do you need help finding it?"

"That's very sweet, big sister, but I have no idea where that piece of paper is, and I don't want to waste your time."

"You could never waste my time. You are my little brother, and as your big sister, it's only natural that I take care of you."

He finally agreed, and we searched everywhere Neville could have been, but we couldn't find it.

"Maybe you left it in your old belongings, so don't worry—the house-elves might set it aside."

But I wasn't sure if he would get his paper back before the guard changed all the passwords.

Walking into the Room of Requirement, I saw Professor McGonagall returning the Firebolt to Harry.

After she left, I walked toward them.

"I think you should apologize to Hermione anyway. Even if it wasn't cursed, you held a grudge against her when all she did was worry about your safety, Harry."

They both looked guilty and promised to talk to her.

After parting ways with them, I went to get Hermione so she could meet them.

The Golden Trio was supposed to reunite that evening—it was big news.

Hermione entered the Gryffindor common room because of her friendship with Ron and Harry. But as Ron went back to his room to get something, he returned accusing Hermione's cat of killing his rat.

There are two points of view. One is Ron's, as Crookshanks already had a grudge against the rat, even though it was just normal cat behavior.

The other point of view is Hermione's. She said that the cat hairs found on Ron's sheets were there because she had visited him on Christmas morning with Crookshanks, and he had rushed directly at the rat.

The only problem is the bloodstain found on the sheet, which was said to belong to Ron's rat. But what contradicts the idea that Crookshanks attacked the rat is that he often goes for walks, yet when Hermione is around, he never enters another house's common room—only ours.

Two points of view, and yet I am sure that Crookshanks is not to blame because of this counterargument.

So the real question is: where is Ron's rat?

And the worst part of it all is that Harry thinks the same way as Ron.

When Hermione returned to the common room in tears, I had to stop Marie from going to hit them.

"Calm down, you can humiliate Harry during the Quidditch game."

"You're right. I'll go tell Cho that I'll lend her my Firebolt so she can at least match Harry's speed."

In the end, the match was very close, but Gryffindor won with a thirty-point lead—not much, but still a victory.

That evening, I was quietly in the Room of Requirement, practicing a new series of ancient charms that allowed mastery over the elements.

At the end of my training, I returned to my room when I saw a large shadow running through the corridors.

"Stupefy!"

My target turned out to be a large black dog, and I was almost certain it was Sirius Black.
