The entire battle was nothing more than Itachi selecting the right environment to easily outmaneuver and defeat Hidan.
Before Hidan could even display his strength, he had already fallen into the trap.
"Damn you—!"
Before Hidan could continue his tirade, Itachi lifted his foot and stomped on Hidan's head, silencing him with a physical solution.
"Keep talking, and I'll toss you into a latrine," Itachi threatened, his gaze cold and unamused.
"..."
Hidan, still mumbling angrily through clenched teeth, froze at the threat. He stared in horror at Itachi's foot and wisely shut his mouth.
The vivid image of his head being tossed into a pit and soaking in filth while cursing filled his mind. No, he wasn't about to provoke Itachi further.
'So that's the kind of person you are, Itachi,' Shisui thought, his expression a mix of amusement and surprise.
He was certain that the old Itachi, no matter how irritated, would never have said something like that.
'Looks like being around the Elder has even corrupted him a bit.'
With the cult elders and Hidan's body secured, the other cultists' corpses and their base were destroyed.
Mission complete, Shisui and Itachi returned to the hotel, bringing back an unexpected bonus: a sizeable stash of money from the cult's base.
Even Kazuki was surprised at how much wealth the cult had hoarded.
Shisui had looted banknotes worth over ten million ryo.
Where the money came from remained a mystery.
The next day, news of the Jashin cult's eradication spread throughout the Village Hidden in Hot Water, leaving everyone in shock.
What had been the village's most powerful and untouchable cult the day before had been wiped out overnight.
The announcement sent shockwaves through the village. Rogue ninjas, missing-nin, and even members of other cults all grew silent.
Everyone became suspiciously obedient, hiding in their hideouts and avoiding public view entirely.
Forget stirring up trouble—they didn't even dare step outside their doors for fear of becoming the next target.
But hiding wouldn't save them.
While rogue ninjas and missing-nin might escape notice, members of cults were explicitly marked for elimination by the client's request.
It didn't matter how large or established the group was; if they had ties to a cult, they were targets.
The cleanup was slower than Kazuki had anticipated.
To ensure no loose ends remained, he insisted on a thorough purge. It wouldn't do for cultists to resurface after his team left, tarnishing his reputation or Konoha's.
Because of Kazuki's meticulous approach, the remaining cults in the village suffered greatly.
Every day, news broke of another cult being eradicated, following the same fate as the Jashin cult.
This unrelenting purge eventually caused panic.
Some cult members fled the village entirely, as did certain rogue ninjas and missing-nin, terrified of becoming collateral damage.
While there were suspicions that Kazuki's team was behind the string of exterminations, no one dared say anything publicly for fear of drawing attention to themselves.
After two weeks of this operation, the mission finally wrapped up.
The duration exceeded Kazuki's expectations.
He knew the village was a hub for many cults, but he hadn't anticipated just how many there were.
Fortunately, despite the large number, most were weak and insignificant.
Under Shisui and Itachi's systematic efforts, the cults were quickly neutralized.
With the various cults eradicated, the village's public safety improved dramatically. Rogue ninjas and missing-nin went into hiding, too frightened to make any moves.
Only then could the mission be considered complete.
Two days later, Kazuki, Shisui, and Itachi returned to Konoha.
As the village's iconic gates came into view, Kazuki turned to Shisui and said.
"Take a few days off to rest. The Hokage has tasked me with selecting instructors for a new supplementary class program. I'd like you to join it as a teacher."
"A supplementary class?" Shisui asked, clearly surprised.
He hadn't expected to one day become a teacher.
"It's not a formal ninja school position," Kazuki explained.
"This program is for families who want their children to have a stronger foundation and learn additional skills or techniques. Parents can pay a fee to enroll their children, and as a teacher, you'll need to pass on some of your expertise. That doesn't mean you can teach anything, though. Basic ninjutsu is fine, but anything advanced or clan-specific is off-limits unless the student is from the Uchiha clan."
"I understand. I'll make sure to fulfill my duties," Shisui replied, accepting the task.
Kazuki clapped Shisui on the shoulder.
"Shisui, you've always wanted to improve relations between the Uchiha clan and the villagers. This is your chance. Show off your real abilities. If a student is particularly diligent, feel free to reward them with extra help. Let them see how passionate and skilled the Uchiha are. That can change opinions. And remember—if you want to influence someone, starting with their children is often the easiest path."
Shisui's resolve strengthened at Kazuki's words.
What had initially seemed like a simple assignment now felt like an opportunity to achieve a long-standing goal.
The three split up upon entering the village, with Kazuki heading to the Hokage's office alone.
When he arrived, he found Tsunade as stressed as ever, running her hands through her hair in frustration.
At this rate, Kazuki thought, she'd be bald in no time.
"Kazuki, you're back?"
Shizune greeted him warmly, but Tsunade, less amused, muttered, "What's there to be happy about? He already has a girlfriend."
"..."
Shizune's cheerful expression froze.
Kazuki rolled his eyes.
"You know I have a girlfriend, and yet you still did 'that' to me?"
'Bang!'
"Kazuki, you'd better explain yourself! What do you mean by 'that'?!"
"You know exactly what I mean," Kazuki said with a sly grin, placing a scroll on the desk.
"Unless, of course, you'd like everyone to know about how you snuck into my bed in the middle of the night."
"..."
Tsunade almost coughed up blood.
'Unbelievable!'
Now he was threatening her?
'Fine, you win!'
