"Kotoamatsukami!!!"
As soon as Obito saw her, Rin Nohara's Sharingan spun rapidly, forming a peculiar pattern. Seeing the Mangekyō Sharingan in Rin's eyes, Uchiha Obito instinctively pushed her away, already on guard.
Obito swiftly moved back and glared at Rin with rage. "Who are you, really, to dare to disguise yourself as Rin?"
The thought of someone impersonating his beloved Rin made Obito's blood boil; he was determined to shred them to pieces.
Rin stood up from the water's surface, her expression emotionless. "I am Rin Nohara. No one is impersonating me."
"I can vouch for that. She is indeed Rin Nohara," said Shishou, reverting to his original form, standing beside Rin with a cheerful smile.
"Impossible. Rin is already dead," Obito roared in anger. The girl before him looked no older than eighteen or nineteen, far from the Rin he remembered.
Shishou took Rin's hand, still smiling. "What's impossible about it? I revived her myself."
At these words, Obito recalled Shishou's previous tampering with Rin's grave. If Shishou had indeed revived her back then, she would be around this age now. This realization made Obito slightly more inclined to believe Shishou.
The woman before him was eerily identical to Rin—down to the smallest detail.
When Obito saw Shishou holding Rin's hand, an uncontrollable rage flared within him.
This bastard dared to lay hands on Rin!!!
I'll kill him!!!
I must kill him!!!
Feeling a sudden surge of jealousy, Obito glared furiously at Shishou. But then he froze.
He couldn't use Kamui...
Obito looked at Rin in shock. "What... what did you do to me?"
Shishou gently squeezed Rin's hand, speaking leisurely, "Your most formidable ability is Kamui, so naturally, I had to neutralize it first."
"Rin's eyes are actually Uchiha Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan, which holds the power of the most potent genjutsu, Kotoamatsukami."
Uchiha Shisui... Kotoamatsukami...
Hearing these names, Obito's heart sank into a pit of despair, his entire body feeling cold.
Shishou continued, "Rin just cast Kotoamatsukami on you, making you incapable of using Kamui or Izanagi for the rest of the day."
Though Kotoamatsukami was indeed powerful, the stronger the target and the more complex the command, the longer it took to take effect. To be safe, Shishou instructed Rin to plant a simple suggestion for one day—disabling Obito's use of Kamui and Izanagi.
Without Kamui, Obito's combat effectiveness was reduced to less than a tenth of his usual strength.
Realizing this, Obito's face twisted in horror. He turned to flee.
Shishou, expressionless, raised his right hand and aimed it at the escaping Obito.
Banshō Ten'in (Universal Pull)!
Obito was yanked into the air, flying straight towards Shishou.
Shishou's hand shot out, and black rods, created from Yin-Yang Release, pierced through Obito, turning him into a pin cushion.
"Cough, cough."
Obito spat blood, collapsing on his knees on the water's surface. Feeling the chaotic chakra inside him, knowing he had no chance of escape, Obito removed his mask and looked at Rin with a twisted face.
"Tell me you're not Rin. Tell me you're not Rin!"
Rin shook her head, her face cold. "Obito, stop deceiving yourself, just like with your Moon's Eye Plan."
Obito clutched his face in agony, screaming in madness. "Why? Why are you helping him against me?"
"Everything I did was for you! Why are you siding with him?"
Rin's anger flared up at these words. Pointing at Obito, she shouted, "I sacrificed myself to protect the village, choosing to die by Kakashi's hand. And you turned around and attacked the village with the Nine-Tails? Where did my wishes fit into your plans?"
"You even targeted Kushina-sensei, right after she gave birth. You went after their orphaned son too. Was that for me as well?"
"You destroyed everything I cherished, and you dare say it was for me!!!"
Rin was livid, wishing she could personally end Obito for using her as an excuse for his atrocities.
Obito was stunned by Rin's accusations, his mind reeling. He began to question if his actions had been right all along...
Seeing Obito in a state of existential crisis, Shishou created a shadow clone to send Rin back to Amegakure.
Then he approached Obito, placing a hand on his shoulder. Numerous sealing symbols extended from Shishou's hand, wrapping around Obito, immobilizing him completely.
Obito stared blankly at Shishou's actions. After a long pause, he finally spoke, "Did you really revive Rin?"
Shishou nodded. "I did. Without her, dealing with you wouldn't have been easy."
Obito let out a bitter laugh. "You're quite the strategist."
He hadn't expected Shishou to go so far as to revive Rin to defeat him.
Looking at Shishou, Obito asked dazedly, "Did I... really make a mistake?"
Shishou knew that Rin's confrontation had deeply shaken Obito. Otherwise, he would never have asked such a question.
Shishou carefully removed the Kamui Sharingan from Obito's eyes. "Yes, you did. If it was really for Rin, you should have investigated her death properly."
Tears of blood streamed down Obito's face. "Please, kill me."
Having his greatest ambition shattered by the person he loved most made Obito feel like a complete failure, unworthy of continuing to live.
Moreover, considering Rin's earlier anger and Shishou's character, there was no future for him and Rin...
Shishou pocketed the Kamui Sharingan and asked, "Don't you want to know the real cause of Rin's death?"
"The real cause of Rin's death?"
Obito lifted his head in shock, 'looking' at Shishou.
Could there be another reason behind Rin's death?
Shishou glanced towards the distant battlefield where Madara was fighting Konan and the others. "Did you ever wonder why you happened to witness Rin's death at Kakashi's hands?"
Obito froze at Shishou's words.
"Are you saying... Uchiha Madara?"
