Chapter 3 - Fuyuki

(A While Later)

--------------------------------------

After entering her house, Bazett took off her jacket hung it on the hanger, then right after immediately went down to the basement with the package she took from the receptionist.

'I wonder what's inside..?' Bazett thought to herself as she arrived at the basement. The entire place was full of dust but quite ironically it was well organized. She placed the package on the table which was in the very center of the room.

After that, she carefully opened the package. The first thing she noticed the moment she opened it was a note attached to a piece of stone tablet. The stone tablet itself had several ancient engravings on it, it was simply intriguing. However, for now, she put the stone tablet on the table and began to read the note attached aloud.

"Dear Bazett, if you are reading this note, then it means you have received the gift I have prepared for you. First of most, congratulations, you have been chosen as a master in the Holy Grail War. I want you to use this exact stone tablet to summon your servant. In simpler terms, use it as a catalyst. A little sneak peek for you, the war will be starting soon, so you'd better hurry. Good luck. -Zelretch the Wizard Marshall." There was a red, noble-looking insignia on the note.

"I didn't know Wizard Marshall was so interested in this war, but he could have at least told me about the origin of this tablet..." Bazett read the note with a slightly puzzled expression and muttered quietly. Then she put it aside on the table.

'Since I've been chosen as the representative of Clock Tower, I'd better take this seriously.' Bazett's face wore a determined expression as she thought this.

But she could only prepare less than what she wished since it would take about a month to create the lead balls that are needed for Fragarach, her trump card. She learned from the note that the Holy Grail War would start in two weeks, so she had to make do with what she had at the moment. She should have at least 2, if her memory serves her correctly.

Bazett firstly, took about a dozen blood vials from a cabinet which was at the right corner of the basement and put them on the table. Then she picked up a backpack that was near the table and carefully placed the blood vials in a special section, more secure inside the backpack. After, she re-taped the stone tablet in its original packaging and placed it in her backpack too. Once she had everything that she needed, she went upstairs and began to pack her personal belongings and clothes in her suitcase.

After all these preparations, only one, but very important thing remained. She went on to check on her case which contained the lead balls that are used for Fragarach. When Bazett took this cylindrical bag in her hand and opened it's lid. She realized that there were only 3 lead balls left and thought to herself: 'Hopefully this will be enough.'

She checked everything again and when she was sure nothing was missing, she left her house with her suitcase and two bags and locked the door.

Leaving her house, Bazett walked to the sidewalk and stopped an empty cab passing by.

After the driver stopped, Bazett spoke to him:

"Can you open the trunk please? I need to put my stuff in."

"Of course, ma'am." The driver who was an old man said this with a friendly face, he got out of the car, opened the trunk, and put Bazett's suitcase and bags in there. The man closed the trunk and got back into the driver's seat. By that time Bazett was already in one of the back seats of the car.

After about half an hour of driving, the taxi arrived at the airport. Bazett handed the money to the old man, who helped her get her bags and suitcase out of the trunk. Then, she started walking towards the international terminal of the airport.

When she entered the terminal, the first thing she saw was the check-in desk. Bazett walked to the counter there, and after a few minutes of waiting in line, it was finally her turn.

"May I see your ID, ma'am? And where is your flight to?" The woman at the desk smilingly told Bazett.

"Fuyuki, Japan." Bazett, who had only told her where she was going, discreetly took out her Association ID from her wallet and handed it to the woman without being noticed by the people next to and behind her.

Seeing Bazett's Association ID, the woman's eyes widened with shock and slight fear. She nervously pressed a few buttons on her computer's keyboard and then printed out a ticket. With a forced smile, she first handed Bazett her ticket and gave back the ID.

"E-Enjoy your flight, ma'am." The lady looked a little nervous as she said this. Although Moonlit World was unknown to the general folk, the people who worked in some fields knew a little about it out of necessity. But of course, letting out even the slightest bit of information would have resulted in a fate worse than death for them and their family.

"Thank you." Bazett took the ID and the ticket without paying much attention to the woman's scared expression, put her suitcase on the conveyor belt next to the desk, and moved toward the security checkpoint.

When she got to the security checkpoint, a guard saw the lead balls in Bazett's cylindrical metal bag and asked her about them.

"Ma'am, care to explain what these are?" The man's face held an arrogant look on his face when he spoke to her.

Faced with the question, Bazett just showed the man her Association ID from her wallet. Seeing the ID, the man's cocky expression suddenly turned dead serious and he let Bazett pass without any further questioning.

After she was done with the security scanning, she took a look at her ticket and headed towards the gate assigned to it.

There, Bazett found a comfortable-looking place and sat down.

Since the flight was an hour and a half away and Bazett didn't want to get up from her seat, she spent the whole time looking around. So when she finally heard the announcement of her flight, a look of relief came over her face.

'Sigh... Finally.' As such thoughts ran through her head, she moved to the line in front of the gate. When it was her turn, she had the staff there check her ticket and she entered the plane then sinked comfortably in her destined seat.

Spending the entire 13-hour flight sleeping, Bazett had to take a taxi to Fuyuki after landing, because the airport where they landed was on the outskirts of the town.

As the tall and imposing buildings of the city became more and more visible, she decided to get out of the taxi and walk the rest of the way to the church on her feet to further familiarize herself with the surroundings and stretch her legs.

Even though the long walk was challenging because of all the things she was carrying, it was not much of a hassle for someone of her caliber.

When she arrived in front of the Fuyuki Church, it was only around 10:30 in the morning, the sun's rays coming from the back of the church were creating beautiful scenery along with the church itself. Even she herself was breathless for a moment at the sight of this fascinating view.

Stepping into the churchyard, Bazett realized that the doors were already open, so she went inside and heard a voice coming from nearby.

"Welcome, young miss."
