Chapter 351 - Beneath the Castle’s Veil

Before long, they emerged from the narrow passage into a wider space. The shift was almost immediate—the air felt less confined, and a faint light trickled in from above, illuminating the area with a soft glow. Luke's first thought was that they were still underground, though not completely buried beneath the earth. Some openings above allowed natural light to filter through, preventing the space from being cast into complete darkness.

His gaze wandered across the surroundings. Unlike the cramped tunnel behind them, this place had been deliberately designed as a passage and a functional space. The walls bore the same aged stonework as the castle itself, seamlessly blending into the hidden nature of the place. Most importantly, however, Luke noticed the intricate drainage system carved into the floor. Channels and grates lined the stone, directing any water that might accumulate.
