Chapter 21 - DAY 1 - THE CHOSEN ONES

In the underground temple, the native leader, covered in brown markings, peers down into a giant hole. Deep below, Nox continues digging with his fists, his knuckles raw and bloody. Taking a deep breath, he slams his fist into the ground once more. The earth cracks beneath him, and brown magic begins seeping from the fissures.

Nox reaches out and touches the magic. Instantly, it begins to corrupt him, triggering a violent magical storm within the hole. He endures the raging energy, standing firm as he focuses. In his mind, he recalls the village paintings and the ancient words written beneath them.

"Thy must become earth itself to be able to withstand the doom waves," he murmurs.

With those words, he relaxes, sinking into meditation. The storm gradually settles, drawn into his control. Suddenly, a vision floods his mind—a view from a spaceship window. He watches as nearby planets explode one by one, their destruction echoing in silence. The scene shifts. He is now drifting in the void of space, surrounded by countless voices screaming in agony. A black hole consumes him, pulling him into its depths. The darkness morphs into Black Paradise. He kneels, pressing his fingers into the soil beneath him as the city lights shines upon him.

His eyes snap open. The storm surrounding him no longer rages—it is being absorbed into his body. He breathes deeply and declares, "Only I can understand the pain of planetary destruction. Only I am worthy of saving it all. Only then can all those lost lives rest at ease."

As the last traces of the storm disappear, glowing brown markings etch themselves onto his body. He adjusts the black crown on his head, his senses expanding. He feels the very essence of the dirt around him, detecting the presence of a nearby magic item.

Pressing his palm to the ground, he commands the earth. The dirt shifts, carrying him upward until he rises before the native leader. His hand radiates an intense brown glow as he waves it through the air. Suddenly, the ground trembles, and from the soil, a magic shovel emerges.

Nox grasps the handle firmly. The native leader, eyes wide with awe, falls to his knees and bows before him.

Meanwhile, in another underground village, the natives bear glowing purple markings across their bodies. Within his training chamber, Lars stands at the center, his magic gloves pulsing with energy. A powerful magic storm swirls around him, crackling with raw force.

As the storm rages, memories flood his mind—training sessions with his older brother, Dustin, and the overwhelming displays of power his father demonstrated in every lesson. He recalls Dustin's weaknesses, vowing that he will not follow the same path.

Clenching his fists, Lars declares, "Only with great power can one achieve godhood! I will show every star in the universe the strength required to claim it. Father, be proud, for I am your son, the one who will uphold the name of Platinumgrey! Only power can do it all!"

As his words echo through the chamber, the storm around him gradually fades. In its place, glowing purple markings etch themselves across his body, radiating with newfound strength.

Meanwhile, in the ruined lands, night falls as many Star players roam across the desolate terrain. Within an ancient temple, a Star named Ignis from planet Verdin stands before a faded painting. The artwork depicts natives covered in red markings, gathered in worship around a towering volcano. His gaze shifts to another painting beside it—this one illustrating the same ruin lands, the volcano looming ominously in the distance.

Reaching out, Ignis presses his hand against the volcano in the painting. "For my planet Verdin, I must become strong, So I can become a god. Only then will my people survive," he murmurs.

With resolve, he turns and steps out of the temple, making his way south. Upon reaching the shores, he gathers an array of tools, his hands working quickly to construct a sturdy raft. As the final piece is set in place, he pushes off into the sea, sailing toward a nearby island where the volcano stands waiting.

Arriving at the island's edge, Ignis steps onto the shore, his eyes locked onto the towering peak ahead. Without hesitation, he begins his journey toward the volcano as there are also many other Stars on this island.

Meanwhile, in the underground ruined village, Kayle dashes through the crumbling streets, narrowly dodging a barrage of magic arrows fired by the corrupted spirit. Green explosions erupt around her, shaking the ground as she barely evades their impact. Though wounded, she pushes forward, gripping the wooden staff tightly in her hands.

With each step closer to the spirit, memories flood her mind—moments of joy from her life in the commoner city. She remembers spending time with Tomi, eating out, laughing in arcades, swimming at the beach, cooking together, and watching movies. But no matter how many good memories she holds onto, one moment always resurfaces—the day when Lars attacked during her exile day.

The monstrous rage on his face, the burning hatred in his eyes, and the shame in her father's expression—it is all burned into her mind. The fall from Oasis haunts her dreams, a nightmare that never fades.

A sudden explosion strikes her, sending her crashing into the remains of a broken building. Pain surges through her body as blood slowly drips from her wounds. Gritting her teeth, she struggles to her feet.

"I am flawed… I am only human… and I can't escape my inner demons," she whispers. Her grip tightens around the staff. "So… I shall fight them head-on!"

With newfound determination, she leaps onto a rooftop just as the spirit prepares to fire another arrow. As the energy gathers, Kayle launches herself forward, roaring with defiance. She barely dodges the incoming shot, twisting in midair as she plunges the wooden staff deep into the spirit's chest.

The spirit stumbles backward, its form flickering. Its voice trembles as it speaks. "What a fool I was… Father was right… Please, don't be a fool like me. Don't let your emotions control your decisions."

As those final words echo through the ruins, the spirit fades away. Kayle stands motionless, her heart heavy with the weight of its message. Slowly, she reaches down and grasps the magic bow. A surge of power rushes through her as glowing green markings spread across her body.

Meanwhile, on the eastern side of the planet, a massive island is home to a village of one million natives, each adorned with glowing yellow markings. Within the village's infirmary, Boa steps inside to check on Crank, who lies on a cot as the villagers carefully tend to his wounds.

Boa waves at him and ask "Where's Jen? I thought she was at death's door just moments ago."

Crank chuckles weakly. "Surprisingly, she recovered fast. Her body reacted really well to their medicine. She even said these drugs remind her of the ones she takes back home—the ones that make her feel good, fast, strong, and free. But the difference? This stuff doesn't kill you. It actually helps your body heal. Knowing that, she took off with her new friends."

Boa exhales, shaking his head. "Well, at least she's doing fine. The night is still long—get some rest. The second wave of doom is coming soon."

As Boa turns to leave, Crank smirks. "Boa, you looked kind of cool with all those yellow markings."

Boa pauses for a moment, then smiles and nods before stepping out into the open air. The village is alive with activity, but his destination lies ahead—the grand meeting of the 20 master tribes.

In the heart of the gathering, Prekayda, one of the village witch elders, steps forward, guiding Boa into the center. As he arrives, the entire assembly bows before him.

Prekayda raises his voice. "We have all been waiting for this moment—the moment when the true chosen one fully awakens his power to protect us from doom!"

A roar of cheers erupts from the villagers surrounding them.

Prekayda continues. "Legends tell us that our great leader once came from another planet. That is why he could only harness half of the magic item's power, but you, as a sky person, can control it fully. Complete the task before you, and serve your duty as the leader of the Wakeen Tribe."

Boa follows the elders as they guide him into the sacred temple. Inside, resting upon an ancient pedestal, a glowing magic item radiates pure energy. Boa reaches forward, placing his hand upon it.

A violent magic storm bursts forth, engulfing the entire temple. Boa grits his teeth, enduring the surge of energy as visions flood his mind—memories of his own past and those of the former leader, intertwining like an endless stream.

He steadies his breath, focusing. Slowly, the storm begins to settle, its raw energy drawn into him. The yellow markings on his body pulse with brilliance as the magic item in his grasp shifts and reshapes, solidifying into a radiant magic sword.

Meanwhile, in the main house of Juvia City, inside the grand meeting chamber, the people gather to witness a historic transition. Yuri is officially selected as the new head of the Cyan Sparks, while Taeo is chosen by both the citizens and the Stars to become the new leader. In honor of this new era, the city's name is changed from Juvia City to Taeo City.

Following the ceremony, Yuri leads Taeo to a secure elevator. As they descend deep underground, the air grows heavier with anticipation. When they reach the final floor, the doors slide open, revealing a vast technological complex.

Walking through the corridor, Yuri begins to explain. "My people built everything advanced in this city, but centuries ago, we were no different from the natives scattered across the world. Our ancestors once protected a magic item, their bodies covered in blue markings. As time passed, we became the lucky ones who took a chance on technology, pushing human evolution forward."

Taeo listens intently as they move deeper into the facility.

"When Juvia became the leader, he attempted to wield the magic item but failed. The prophecy has it that only the chosen ones are able to harness such power. Even with all our advancements, we could only grasp fragments of it. That's how we developed the fusion cores, the devices that power the entire city, the ships, and even the Mechas."

Yuri glances at Taeo before continuing. "But Mechas are rare. Only those who are lucky at birth can wield them, as a Mecha responds to a person's inner spirit. Throughout history, there have been over 120 Mecha pilots, but currently, only two remain—myself and Commander Zaun of the Crimson Flares. However, if you can control the magic item, we can have as many Mecha pilots as needed."

They finally reach a vast chamber where scientists work tirelessly, operating countless devices. At the center of the room, a massive transparent cube houses the revered magic item, pulsating with energy.

Yuri gestures toward it. "This is your moment, Taeo."

Taeo steps forward, entering the cube. The moment he does, the magic item erupts into a violent storm of energy, swirling chaotically around him. He clenches his fists, enduring the surge of power. With unwavering determination, he reaches out, his fingers grazing the ancient artifact.

The storm begins to calm, its wild energy drawn into him. The magic item shifts, transforming into a fusion core that embeds itself into his chest.

A surge of power courses through his veins as glowing blue markings appear across his body.

Suddenly a surge of data floods into Taeo's mind, unlocking an intricate understanding of the planet's technology. His eyes glow with newfound knowledge as he processes the vast array of systems, tools, and mechanisms available.

He exhales sharply before speaking. "This power I've just gained... it's incredible. But I can't do this alone. Our timeline is short—only eight days before the world is completely destroyed. With the limited time we have, I'll need to divide my power among other Stars. If we accelerate the process, we can put my grand plan into action. I already have someone in mind—someone I judged based on his presence alone, the aura he carried when I first saw him."

Yuri nods in agreement. "I also have someone in mind. This person will be a perfect fit for your plan."

Moments later, under the cover of night, a grand assembly of Stars gathers in the meeting hall. The atmosphere is tense with anticipation as Taeo steps forward, his presence commanding the attention of every Star in the room.

"We don't have time for slow progress," Taeo announces. "To build at the pace I need, I'll be extending my powers to a selected few. The first person I've chosen for this task is Gilga from Planet Isha."

A spotlight illuminates Gilga, who stands tall, his expression unwavering. The crowd erupts in applause and cheers, acknowledging his strength and potential.

Yuri then takes the stage. "We've also come to an agreement that there should be a second chosen leader for this project. Based on my experience, this individual is the best Sky Person I've ever met. I have no doubt they will excel in this role. The second chosen is… Gaia!"

Another spotlight shifts, landing on Gaia, who meets the announcement with steady confidence. The Stars in attendance celebrate the decision, voices rising in excitement.

Taeo steps forward, extending both hands toward Gilga and Gaia. His fusion core pulses with radiant energy, and streams of magic flow from his chest, channeling into the two chosen ones. The energy wraps around their arms, forming intricate, armored gauntlets infused with immense power.

A final surge of light flashes as glowing blue markings appear across their faces, signifying their newfound connection to Taeo's power.

As the energy surges through them, Taeo, Gilga, and Gaia suddenly find themselves transported into a vast digital world—an endless space of shifting neon grids, floating data streams, and cascading lines of code. Their surroundings pulse with an electric hum as holographic blueprints and documents materialize in midair, responding to their rapid thoughts and calculations.

Taeo wastes no time, turning to them with a determined expression. "This is where we lay the foundation of our grand plan so be hasted."

Gilga's eyes glow as he scans the endless expanse of data before him. "As a noble from my planet I'm builted on logic and innovation. This kind of task is second nature to me." He moves his hands, generating layers of intricate designs—schematics for new energy systems, enhanced defense mechanisms, and optimized city structures.

Gaia smirks, analyzing the evolving digital papers. "I'll handle the efficiency models. We need more than just power; we need sustainability." With a flick of her wrist, she restructures the blueprints, optimizing them for maximum output with minimal resources.

The three master minds synchronize, and in mere minutes, the digital space explodes with thousands of floating blueprints—energy grids, mecha enhancements, weaponry advancements, and survival strategies. They move at an accelerated pace, their minds working faster than ever before, shaping the very future of their world in real-time.

Taeo pauses for a moment, glancing at the expanding sea of knowledge before them. He grins. "Planet Isha really does produce high-level mortals—just like my own. With this level of progress, we might just earn the most points in the first stage of the Star Games."

The digital world pulses brighter as their work continues, the future of their mission unfolding in a storm of data and ingenuity.
