Chapter 224 - Chapter 224 - Pirate Attack!

Third person POV

Digesting their positive and great reviews and remarks on the ferry, Russell responded back, "Oh, so these people already experienced riding this one…" He then walked to the TV Lounge, grabbed a TV remote, which was battery-free and relied on magic, and turned on one of the TVs, which showed a magically projected, live documentary from the Northeastern Continent at this hour. This calmed his nerves a bit, and he started watching it while his friends enjoyed their time in the vessel. Rai and Ria were fascinated by the fishes and other creatures of the sea passing by, while Aren, Frannie, and Adrian gazed at the sea view of the vast and open sea under the hot sun. Janet, meanwhile, was doing some writing on her magical laptop in her Golden cabin.

And then, a bit later, while halfway through its voyage, SS Athelstan was attacked by a fleet of thieving pirates on wooden ships. The pirates started firing cannonballs at the huge, metallic vessel and started preparing to raid it. But, the cannonballs hit the vessel's body and didn't penetrate it, as if it was made of something harder than the steel of this world. Furthermore, most of the passengers onboard were chilled at it since the ferry was magically resistant to attacks. So, when Russell heard that and relayed a high-alert message to those around him, he was told that everything was fine because the ferry was resistant to attacks. Hearing that made the bus driver astonished. "What the flip??"

One of the passengers, an elf adventurer, then nodded. "Yes, trust us. We experienced such attacks from those sea buckos many times over."

Gerald was pretty chilled by this while steering his ferry steadily, even though the crew members around him were a bit nervous about this. Among the circle is Co-Captain Laszlo Takacs, an 18-year-old native of the YIF. Gerald always gave his usual assurance that his ferry was always resistant to any external attack. But then, when some of the pirate ships were in his way, Gerald rammed them over with his ferry to teach these sea bandits a lesson for wasting their precious lives by committing sea-based crimes that could have robbed people of their wealth and lives.

Because of that, the wooden vessels that got into the pathway of SS Athelstan were crushed and rammed over. Pieces of wood and other materials burst and spread, while the pirates scrambled to safety. But the majority didn't make it out alive and perished in the attack on the water. A couple of traces of blood splattered the floating pieces of wood as the other pirates watched in horror and probably regretted their stupid action on the ferry. Of course, hearing all that noise alerted Russell, and he sprinted to the viewing deck, only to see that his friends were watching the scene with shock and horror.

"Guys, did you hear all that wood cracking?" he asked them.

"Yeah, this big beast just rammed the wooden ships literally," Aren replied back.

"These pirates really need to think twice before attacking this behemoth of a water vessel!" Azalea added strongly.

Rai then puffed in anger against the pesky, alcohol-smelled pirates.

And then, Janet came from her accommodation, but she was too late. She did see the aftermath, and she was shocked. "W-What happened here?!"

"The ferry just rammed these pirates over," Adrian replied back.

Cassius then nodded while standing next to Adrian.

Sylas and Caspian were observing the wreckage, which was getting farther and farther away.

Because of all this, Russell ran to the captain's deck, eager wanting to see the captain of this ferry.
