Chapter 23 - Partial Perdicion

Feeling the connection between the mysterious delicate phantasm and himself increase on a deeper level, Darwin becomes more increasingly enticed to whoever they were.

Darwin…

Letting him go, the phantasm takes a step back, giving Darwin room to breathe.

"What am I?" Darwin asked.

A king…

Darwin's expression swiftly became blank, his eyes dull to the answer as it only made his identity more confusing.

Suddenly, a pile of corpses appear in front.

Smell…

But before he would do that, his mind drifted to a mystery he had solved just before.

Thinking back to his growth, he felt that missing puzzles started to add up. His

sight was the first to grow and become a valuable asset to him. Then came hearing which allowed him to be more flexible on analysing and reacting against opponents.

Then came taste. Weirdly enough, he didn't know how he achieved it. But considering how he obtained the hearing, something foreboding was looming over his pale face when he thought about how he obtained taste.

Gulping, Darwin sensed a new and profound odour rising in the air.

"This incredible smell!" Irresistible, the smell and what he envisioned from eating the pile of corpses that were in front of him.

But he suddenly felt something strange yet again. "Wait! Are these perhaps?!"

Familiar dead bodies, there was a slender Pink haired Vasto Lorde stacked on top of a ginormous and familiar Adjuchas.

Then came another body dropped from above, a dead lioness appear as well with the pile.

Noticing something was off, even when his sense of taste and smell was amplified and driving him insane, Darwin yelled, "WHO IS CONTROLLING ME!"

Panicking, his voice harsh, he was desperately inhaling the air surrounding the infinite parallel world.

Running up to Rose's dead body and caressing her paws. He didn't want to admit, because of his amazing sensing and recognition abilities, he knows this is her real body. This was the first time he hated that he knew so much at this point of moment.

Darwin… Why are you regressing? The phantasm delicately said.

"What do you mean! Can't you see this is one of my comrades body?!" Holding onto the body with a firm grip and tensing his face.

"Can I stop this process?" Darwin asked politely.

With a few seconds of silence, the phantasm responds, No, this is for your sake.

"But I am your king right?" Darwin said. With the phantasm moving a few steps back, Darwin who had his patience tested, had a bulged vein popping out of his forehead. He said commandingly, "I demand you to listen to me!"

With another body falling down, a deer-like Adjucha, sprawled on the pile with their eyes wide open.

"NO!" Pulling the deer body away as well, he felt a sense of dread approached for the last two associates.

"Please…" Pleading, the phantasm was still unfazed.

However, moments later a snake-like Adjucha's dead corpse appeared causing Darwin to internally rage and regret his actions he made thus far.

"Hahah." Looking up to the endless sky. Darwin chuckles at such a complex situation he was placed in with an unknown phantasm.

"If the situation outside was caused by me." Aiming his fist at his partially filled Hollow hole. "Then I will stop this madness."

But before he could self destruct himself. The phantasm responds, Partial Perdicion.

Hearing a response he had yearned for. He knelt down, staring blankly at the ground.

"Why compromise now when Harribel's loyal followers were absorbed by my hands?!" Darwin once again asked the phantasm, struggling to cope with reality.

While he previously was indifferent and wanted isolation with Harribel and her followers. He didn't foresee such grim circumstances that came from the lack of senses, logic and reasoning.

Was he evil? No, it was what the environment of Hueco Mundo turned him into. It was who he had encountered and develop relations with, regardless if they were good or bad.

"What should I do Mies." Lamenting on his thoughts, Darwin felt that living wasn't worth it.

I'm sorry…

The phantasm stood still, aware of what they wanted from Darwin and what they wished for. They came to a conclusion that it was best to let Darwin be Darwin.

Darwin kept pacing about, trying to kill the injured Harribel who was dodging all his current attacks with a limp left arm. Despair filled Harribel's mind, she who used to have a calm and composed expression revealed distraught facial expressions. Pained from her fallen loyal Fraccions, she mustered her entire being trying to take Darwin down and not letting their deaths go in vain.

"Darwin! Please stop this madness." Pleading, she kept up with Darwin's feral combat style and managed to deliver a devastating high pressurised water attack at his left arm, which is slowly regenerating bit by bit.

With his ruthless rampage, citizens of the Fourth Stratos unwarrantedly were senselessly attacked by Darwin. The full power of Perdicion running rampant, turning the entire Stratos upside down with just his one being.

Adjuchas and their armies from the five different Rey de le Montana came rushing down to the once bustling and peaceful market place which had turn chaotic over a single incident.

But, witnessing the intense and extremely skilled battle, they reluctantly stood by, waiting for Harribel who they had recognised to finish.

Harribel firing consecutive high pressurised water bullets at Darwin's behind, "La Gota."

Darwin reacts with another net like hand, absorbing her attacks once again.

He then begins firing his own water based abilities back at Harribel.

With a sudden shift in abilities, Harribel couldn't help but be surprised at Darwin's adaptability.

"I have to end this!" Gathering her entire being, mustering her entire strength, she spirals her final high pressurised water attack.

Condensing her water flat, reshaping its tip, she made the two dimensional attack maintain the sharpness and deadly properties of her high pressurised water kit.

Like a pointed flat spear, she unleashed the attack at Mach speed towards Darwin, "Flecha de Agua."
