Chapter 16 - Recruits(2)

[USJ Facility - Landslide Zone]

It wasn't long until many students began scattering among the area when landing in the treacherous terrain.

Pinky: "If you feel disoriented already, then WELCOME TO THE LANDSLIDE ZONE!!!!!!!!"

The ground was uneven, littered with debris from artificial rock falls, and a cool mist rolled in from hidden ventilation shafts.

Students staggered as they regained their balance, taking in the chaotic environment. It was an intense simulation designed to challenge even the best trainees.

The Pro-Hero's announcement continued for the students.

Pinky: "I hope you're ready for an uphill battle!! But seriously though, if you look towards the peak of the zone, along with the area already against you, there are a plethora of 'Villain Bots' causing further damage to the environment. Take down the villains before too much damage is done while preventing the natural slide and damage from entering the 'red zone'."

At the starting point, each trainee looked behind themselves to see a machine with large gauge mentioned. This would confuse the lot, as if any of them could really stop a natural disaster from ceasing.

Pinky: "Best of luck, my heroes."

With that, the test commenced.

A chorus of groans and cheers rose from the students, some excited, others wary of what awaited them.

This was the kind of place where you had to keep your head on a swivel. Anything could come at you, from sudden rock slides to surprise attacks.

Villain Bots placed strategically in spots where the landslides weren't a factor.

Yet still had access to boulders. Which are great for throwing towards young heroes.

"This place is wild"

A student from Isamu Academy tries the sliding terrain. She has a quirk that allows her legs to extend and contract great distances. Making large steps over her peers with one leg, while the using the other for a sweeping kick to take out a few Villain Bots.

"Ha! Sorry, but I enjoy stepping over the competition."

However, this action would cause the damaged robots to tumble alongside the terrain. Making other students dodge or find alternate routes.

The chaotic scene intensified as students scrambled to deal with both the unstable terrain and the Villain Bots. The entire environment seemed engineered to throw them off balance, and Pinky's cheerful commentary over the speakers added an extra layer of stress.

Pinky: "Hey!!!!! Don't forget! Every bot that falls adds to the instability of the terrain!"

The ground trembled beneath their feet as the first Villain Bot came into view.

The giant robot, a hulking behemoth, was clearly a part of the Landslide Zone's special training setup—a combination of destruction and survival.

It wasn't just a machine; it was strategically placed to create havoc in the worst possible way, throwing massive boulders and destabilizing the terrain.

This knocks away dozens of students. One of which was hurtling towards more debris.

"Ahhhhh I can't stop!!!!!"

It would've hurt the young hero had he not stopped in mid-air.

"Eh?"

Easily confused. He did not know that just a few feet away, is a young man in red and black Tang Suit and a Shiketsu High hat. Annoyed.

???: "..."

"Oh, thank you."

???: "You were in my way, don't get it confused."

"AH!!"

Before he could get another word in, the martial artist jumped away, leaving 2 fairly big indentations in the ground.

Leaping he would come to face to face with 3 Villain Bots.

As 2 come after him, an invisible force seemingly sideswipes them. Causing the third bot to come to a halt. It attempts to analyze what just occurred.

******************

Hawks: Another one of yours. Hehe

Aizawa: Don't say it like that.

Hawks: Well, technically a result of your teaching.

Aizawa: I'm not a love doctor!!!!! Anyway...

Kirutowa Ojiro

Shiketsu High School

Hero Name - TAI (The Sundown Hero)

Quirk - [Wisp Tail] - possesses two invisible, prehensile tails—one larger and stronger than the other. These tails function as extra limbs, granting him exceptional mobility, offense, and defense. Since they are invisible, his opponents can't see them, making his attacks nearly impossible to predict.

The ground trembled beneath Tai-less' feet. He and his squad had just reached the epicenter of the zone.

Smoke and dust swirled in the air, partially obscuring the massive, towering Villain Robot standing before them.

To make the situation more strenuous, it had a special vacuum beneath itself. Accumulating rocks of various size. The bot began shifting around its chest, revealing a canon.

TAI's sharp golden eyes scanned his enemy, his arms hanging loosely at his sides. A grin tugged at his lips.

Standing to his right, Wataki Yubihazu. A.K.A "Fluff", flexed his fingers. His hands morphing into soft, plush-like material that pulsed with energy.

Wataki: "Cotton Aegis!!!!!"

His Quirk [Cotton Streak], was already softenning the area, helping other students gain their points. As well as coming to support his leader.

Wataki: "Go!!!!"

Not letting his chance go, Tai-less would rush from his friends cotton shield.

But he wasn't running in alone.

Following him was Tabishiru Kirishima. Going by "Riot Arms", broad-shouldered and full of intensity. He slammed his autumn gelatinous arms together, his Quirk [Gloop Layer], ready to increase the density of anything in range.

Tabishiru: "Tch. Is this all they've got?"

Pinky: "GOOD JOB TABI!!!!!!!"

Tabishiru clams up at the sound of his mother over the intercom. Hoping not to get too embarrassed by her support.

TAI smirked.

They didn't even need a plan.

Just a glance.

The Villain Robot, a towering beast of reinforced steel and rusted plating, whirred to life with grinding gears and a deep, mechanical growl. It lifted a gargantuan metal claw, attempting to crush them all in a single swing.

Tabishiru roared, eyes gleaming with excitement.

His arms losing viscosity for a moment before ejecting a blob in mid-air towards the machine.

Now slowed by a hardened jelly, the real plan of action could begin.

Kirutowa: "Let's get this over with!"

Tai-less vanished.

No, not vanished—his feet barely left the ground, but his unseen Wisp Tails propelled him forward in a burst of silent speed, making him appear as if he had blinked out of existence. He slid underneath the mechanical titan's legs, his tails whipping out unseen, striking at its joints with pinpoint force.

*Clang! Clang!*

The massive robot staggered, its balance faltering.

Kirutowa: "Fluff, now!"

Tai-less commanded.

Wataki grinned, slamming both palms into the earth. A wave of cotton-like fibers spread out, coating the ground in a plush surface that absorbed and negated the impact of any heavy hits. The robot's massive feet sank slightly, dulling its movements.

Wataki: "Tch, too soft! You're grounded, big guy!"

Wataki teased. The Villain Robot struggled, but it wasn't finished yet. Its optical sensors glowed red, locking onto Tai-less. A hidden cannon emerged from its shoulder, preparing to fire a shockwave blast.

Before it could charge—

Kirutowa: "Kirishima! Now!"

Tabishiru's goopy arms lashed out, splattering against the robot's chest. His quirk tripled the robot's own density in an instant.

The effect was brutal.

The towering machine suddenly became too heavy for its own support structure, and with a horrifying creak, it collapsed onto its knees. The ground shuddered beneath its new, crushing weight.

TAI wasted no time.

With one final unseen strike, his larger tail slammed into the machine's optical sensors, shattering them in an instant.

The Villain Robot groaned, its systems sputtering. Its massive body slumped forward, defeated.

Tabishiru: "WE DID IT!!!!! OUCH!"

*Twack*

Wataki: "WE DID IT!!!!! AHHHH!!!!"

*Twack*

Both young heroes rejoiced in their teamwork. Feeling unstoppable. But one, or in this case two things would smack them back into reality.

Kirutowa: "Keep sharp. We only took down the biggest one. This event ain't over yet. Now come on."

TAI and his crew pressed on.

******************

Hawks: " I haven't seen a solid teamwork like that in a while."

Aizawa: "Wataki and Tabishiru, alone they have very incompatible Quirks. "

"They shouldn't be able to synchronize that well, yet under Kirutowa's leadership, they managed to make it seamless. He doesn't just understand his own strengths—he understands his team's."

Hawks: "*whistle*Man, I love a kid who can think three steps ahead. And that quirk? Those invisible tails? It's like a built-in counter to almost any attack. You can't dodge what you can't see."

Aizawa nodded.

Aizawa: "His tactical awareness is the real deal. He didn't waste a single movement, knew exactly when to strike, and how to support his team without them even needing to call it out."

The two pros continued going over Kirutowa's file. His squad swiftly moved through the zone, assisting struggling students while adamantly taking down threats. It wasn't about scoring the most points—it was about keeping the mental stability while neutralizing the villains.

Hawks crossed his arms, his usual playful smirk turning serious.

Hawks: "You know, Eraser, the way he adapts… it reminds me a bit of you."

Aizawa glanced at him but didn't refute it.

Aizawa: "Kirutowa Ojiro. The Sundown Hero. TAI. Ok then."

Hawks is taken aback by the immediate agreement. Though continues nonetheless about the selectees.
