Gaster stood alone within a room accompanied by his two son's Sans and Papyrus. The place they were was the lab. The reformed scientist that could be seen as somewhat taciturn would open his mouth to speak to them with a tone that was expected of a father. A small smile latching itself onto the countenance of the void doctor.
"Well my son's, we must go off to do our own form of preparation, and I saw it quite fit for us to all do it together… think of this as an opportunity for some father sons bonding time ey? Maybe after all this is over I can take you to an amusement park or whatever kids these days like." He would let out a slight chuckle after
Sans would simply shrug and then winked. "Oh that would be just fantastic, and maybe I could tell a couple of good yolks.." A sudden "ba-dum!" sound played after he said this.
Papyrus would have rolled his eyes and gave a slight hit to his brother's back with a bone. "Sans that was awful, we weren't even talking about eggs. Ah whatever I cannot wait for that amusement ride, I shall get on the greatest of them all and conquer them Nyeheheheh!"
Gaster would raise his multiple hands and oscillate them down and back to their neutral position, a sign for them to settle down from their ruckus and sudden lively attitudes. "Now now, I know you both must want to do that, but remember what's at stake now. We must get through this first."
================================================================
Sans, Papyrus and Gaster after little more time after their conversation had ended up within the void once more, but this time they could move more freely within it in allowance by Gaster, but there was a certain mysterious oppressive force within the void that seemed to be constantly acting on both Sans and Papyrus causing them a certain strain that made them have to constantly use energy within it and a certain toughness with every action. It felt like the void itself was fighting them as if it was seeing them as a threat…
Papyrus would have an uneasy look being conscious of the void now as he looked around, he felt like someone was watching him even though they hadn't even been there in the first place. A slight oddity came into his mind as sweat dripped sparingly across his bones, only slightly cemented into actual reality after his brother held onto his side. He wiped it off and looked at their father who stood opposite to them.
"Alright then my Son's, to prepare you both as we reach the precipice of our greatest conflict… The void is the perfect place to do so. As I am sure you can both feel the void eating away at you can't you? It feels like it's draining you and fighting against you. The void seeks to corrupt you as it has me, but you should not falter to it. I do not want you to suffer as I have due to the cruelty that it can do to someone. I simply must make it so you two can endure this place more easily, and teach you a few tricks of my own." He would then point towards the both of them before continuing to speak. "Can you feel it? There is a bit of void placed within the both of you, it has always been present within you. The scattered pieces of me in the void go all throughout time, that means that even from when before I fell creating a strange paradox to where even then it had its influence on me…"
Once again Papyrus would be the most reactionary to it, as he would squat down slightly with his hands on his head this seeming shocking to him although he didn't fully understand it as it was too sciency for his expertise. On the other hand Sans just made a "hmm" noise and nodded his head making total sense to him.
"Alright pops, can you please stick a bone in it and just get onto what we're supposed to be doing now. I got people I want to protect, so I don't have time for much more dilly dallying you got that?" For once in his life, there was a serious tone to the words of Sans that surprised both Gaster and Papyrus, but Papyrus would turn to a smile. He was happy to see that his brother had finally found something for him and got out of his more glum seeming natural mood.
"You are… cool brother." Papyrus would say giving a small side comment to Sans who gave him a taciturn look and a smile.
Gaster would be more concise with his wording getting right to the point. "Very well, the gist of it is that you two will stay in the void for a while, and so will I. With you staying here it will naturally train yourselves along with activating the void essence lingering within you more so you can use similar capabilities that I can. But for now before that happens, we have something quite simple to do." He made a dramatic pause that slightly annoyed the both of them but it seems he was a man for theatrics at times. "We shall engage in combat and work on those abilities you already have… and see your capability to fight together."
Papyrus would get stars in his eyes as his cape would be flowing excessively in the nonexistent wind with his smile growing brighter and brighter. A blue bone appeared within his hands as he was already ready to go. "I get to train with my father! This should be excellent fun, no need to go easy on us pops! Well maybe Sans.." He says while giving him a slight side eye and turning his skeletal cheek.
Sans would close his eyes for a moment, seeming to ignore the small build of playful banter his brother was giving him, his eye would open once more showing blankness for a moment, an expression he had only given when he was utterly serious, something that could strike fear even into the most fearless. His white eyes coming back after a moment, it was merely a symbol. He would get into position with his brother as they stood side by side both in combative positions.
Gaster would smile at both of his sons as they seemed more than ready to take him on. Hands would begin appearing around him with two particularly big ones. Differing soul energies appearing from each hand that would illuminate the infinite expanse of ebony that was the void.
"This shall be very very… fun."
