Synopsis
A deal with the devil. Or just about any powerful almost wish granting entity. Although there’s a reason why you would call it that. You could essentially be giving your soul, your very existence to such a being if you make such a deal. But what happens if a certain someone had jokingly imagined such a scenario and acted it. With no idea of the cost.

Chapter 1 - 1: The Void

A/N: If you're wondering why this chapter changed and why there's no second chapter, I realized that this isn't where I want the story to go. I was writing out of my ass and going for wish fulfillment but then I realized how boring that really is. I want to try my best in writing a story with an actual decent plot, and hype. Even if I make mistakes along the way and it ends up ass, at least I can say that I tried. So with that said, I'll be re doing this chapter and try to write a less out of my ass story.

(?'s POV)

I hate systems.

More specifically, I hate how lazy people can get with it.

Sentient systems, sign in systems, systems that just do all the heavy lifting for you.

I especially hate sentient systems though.

If you're going to go with a sentient being that helps you out, at least be somewhat creative with it.

But personally I'd go with a story without a system, and more like something with some other helpful sentient entity that is powerful.

At a cost.

Ever heard of a deal with the devil?

Realistically speaking, you, me, or everybody else isn't special enough to get the attention of a helpful godlike entity that will truly help with no cost.

Making a deal with a mysterious entity that will grant you something in exchange is a story I would more likely read than one where, for whatever inexplicable reason, this system or this god wants to help me because they like me.

For example, let's say that the void from Warframe is real.

I've played through this favorite game of mine and finished up to the latest quest.

The void is a mystery. No one yet knows what it is or what it wants.

The sentient being it is also is called by other names, such as The Indifference. And The Man In The Wall.

Multiple theories were or are made about it.

One says that the void is all the possible but unmanifested possibilities and timelines.

Others say the deal you, as the playable character, make with The Man In The Wall is that you serve as the gateway for the void's access to that reality.

And me building on that theory, I assume The Man In The Wall was either locked away in a prison realm or is just metaphorically, a person/entity locked behind a door and is trying to get in.

The last bit sounds more horror themed, but it is a possibility.

If I were to want to travel worlds or/and want some reassurance for myself, I would make a deal with said entity if they existed.

Nothing is free. Any actual good thing like this would realistically come at a cost.

Now, I don't know what The Man In The Wall wants.

What's its motive? Its reason for action, for deals.

Does it want to invade? To conquer, swallow realities.

Destruction?

Then again, even though I've played the game so much, I never really did truly delve into the lore. Even though it's so unbelievably interesting when other players actually try to decipher it.

Most beings have motive. A reason for action. A goal. At least, from its actions, behavior, and the deal that was made with The Man In The Wall, it seems to want something.

However, maybe that would also be a part of the plot of the story. Trying to figure out what the other half of the deal was. That would be interesting.

Let's say I'm so foolish and want to travel worlds with cool powers so bad, that I don't even try to question it. I just make the deal.

A deal with the devil.

It would go something like this.

Since I'm interacting with what is an almost omnipotent or just extremely powerful entity, just intent for a deal would be fine.

The thought of said entity, of what you want, and the affirmation with a handshake.

Something that would seal the deal.

Jokingly, I reenact it with my eyes closed.

I reach my hand out to the empty seat across the dinner table.

I grab at air.

Thinking of the scenario, of the deal yet not knowing of the cost.

It grabbed my hand.

I open my eyes.

Staring at myself. A deep unsettling smile, with pearl orbs as eyes.

Slowly shaking my hand.

I watch in horror as it raises its other arm, fist clenched.

And slams the table.

But as its fist slams the table, everything turns black.
