Chi Xingye stood on the high observation deck of the Yout Moon Temple, with the whole of Dream City laid out before her.
This was her homeland, the place where generations of her family had lived. It was also where she vowed to keep watch for the rest of her life until death.
But as she looked out at everything before her, her heart remained tethered to another world...
Chi Xingye's eyes were brimming with sorrow.
"Dream Master, Little Miss should be coming home from school by now," a servant reminded her. "Let me help you down."
"No need, I can walk on my own," Chi Xingye did not want to appear weak, needing to be assisted wherever she went, resembling an invalid.
Still, the servant was worried and extended a hand, offering support without making contact.
